Ebook Sample Content Preview:
In the previous section of the report, I mentioned how publishing articles on directory sites whilst encouraging sites owners to republish your work can extend the reach of your marketing efforts.
Most obviously, this happens because anyone who reads your article is a targeted prospect who might visit your site to take advantage of your offer.
At the same time however, the additional benefit of this strategy is that every time your content is published with hyperlinks in the resource box, it creates a link from that site to wherever the link ‘points’.
Most obviously, you would link that article to your site or blog, but directories usually allow you to include up to 3 links. You should take advantage of this but not necessarily with 3 links to you site.
Instead, link to your site but also plant links to other external promotional resources elsewhere.
I am going to explain to you how you can create and publish viral videos later. Why not link your article to a video that you’ve published on a network like YouTube to boost its popularity and rankings?
Google in particular uses incoming links as one measure of the popularity of your site. It is not the only measure that they include in their algorithm (contrary to what some online marketers would have you believe), but it is an important element of how your site is ranked on the search pages.
Hence, viral tactics that mainly focus on generating links to your site (as opposed to targeted visitors) are very important.
While generating links does not send targeted visitors to your site immediately or directly, they do so indirectly by pushing your site closer to the top of the search results.
Many of the viral tactics that I’m going to highlight in this section of the report are more important for link building than they are for generating immediate targeted traffic. At the end of the day however, links do bring targeted visitors one way or another.
