I have mentioned affiliate marketing a few times throughout this book and you may, by now, have an idea as to what it is. As for how to turn it into an online business that will fill your pockets with money, you are probably still scratching your head.
Affiliate Marketing by definition is the act of one person (affiliate) selling the products of another person/company (merchant) for a percentage of the sale.
Simply put-if there is something online that you would like to sell, I would say there’s a 98% chance that you can find an affiliate program for it.
There are affiliate programs for information products, physical products and services. There are even affiliate programs that you can sign up for that all you have to do is supply leads to a company in order to get paid.
We are not going to go into or concentrate on one or the other, as they are all similar in the way that they work. You sign up with the merchant and are given a unique URL with your ID number. You promote the site using your unique URL to drive traffic to the merchant’s page; someone buys the product you are promoting and you get paid.
Sounds simple enough, right?
Well it is, and then again it’s not if you don’t know what you are doing. Lets dig a little deeper into this. The good news is that if you have been paying attention you already have some of the skills needed and you don’t even know it yet.
