There is nothing wrong with online mentoring, it is one of the best ways to speed up your learning process. Mentoring made the largest difference in my bottom line.
That said, you have to be careful. Just because a person claims to be a Guru doesn’t mean they are! Remember at the end of the day, these guys want you as a customer.
You want to make sure these “Gurus” are legit as well. There is no way to really tell but it helps to use some common sense. If someone is a Twitter Guru, they better have tens of thousands of followers. If someone is a viral video expert, they better have videos with millions of views etc...
On your money making journey you will also sign up for a ton of mailing lists. There can be some great value in the emails you get, but expect a LOT of emails and offers. If you feel overwhelmed with these emails then unsubscribe. Trust me, although they may make you feel like it, you won’t miss out on the next big opportunity by paring your list of email subscriptions down to your favorites.
So what does the commandment mean? Basically, you want to position yourself as the Guru, not follow in the coattails of these guys.
