Chapter 1: Introduction

Welcome to Fire Your Boss And Join The Internet Marketing Revolution!

Most people would like to start a home business. They like the freedom of being able to work whenever they want to or wherever they want to. However, it is not easy to get there because many of them are stuck in a rut!

They feel that they are controlled by their bosses. They feel that it would take too much time.

Some of them even whine that they are too tired to do anything the moment they reach home!

Whatever your excuses may be, you will most probably find the solution in this book (or at least, know what it takes to get started). The fact that you are able to pick up this book and read it shows your initiative and you should congratulate yourself for taking the first step!

The Internet is a place that is filled with endless possibilities. It is very easy to find a business model that makes money for anyone as long as they put in the effort to learn and work hard.

All that it takes is that you believe in yourself and believe that you will be able to free yourself from the shackles of your 9-5 job and you will be able to find the means to achieve it.

After all, if you want something badly enough, you will go all out and find the means to achieve your goals.

Alright! Let’s get started immediately!

Chapter 2: Key Concepts behind This Book

In this book, you will learn all about the following:

1• The type of mentality one must adopt if they ever want to break out from the rat race!

• How to turn your skills into your greatest assets!

• How to pick a business model and apply your skills to it!

• How to invest merely 4 hours a day and be able to quit your job or fire your boss… within 6 months!

• Lots of resources to get you started IMMEDIATELY!

Working Part Time with A Full Time Mentality

One of the biggest reasons why people fail at Internet marketing (or fail to break out of their rat race) is because of a flawed mindset towards Internet marketing.

Yes, it is true that you have to spend the remainder of the hours you have left after work to work on your business part time. But that does NOT mean that you will adopt a part time or half-hearted mentality towards your business.

Imagine this analogy…

Let’s assume that an air plane takes off at 150MPH. You will need to ‘drive’ at a certain speed before the plane develops enough speed to take off. Do you think the plane will be able to fly itself off the ground if you are only travelling at a 100MPH? Of course not! It will not take off even if you are flying at 140MPH!

Internet marketing is just like this. You will need to work at a certain momentum before you:

1• Develop the necessary knowledge to build your business (you can’t really ‘drive’ far if you are constantly locked in 2nd gear).

1• You need to show others that you are committed enough before they are ready to do a joint venture with you (after all, no one wants to JV with a half-hearted marketer – especially if they know that you are not constantly available).

1• You need to build your reputation strong enough because it will lessen your promotion work – the speed of trust between you and your customers is very crucial.

The Art of Building Assets Online

When you are building your business online, you must be able to build assets if you want to quit your job. Allow me to explain:

A 9-5 job is only short term income. It can be a lot or a little, but fundamentally it is still short term… Why? Because the moment you stop working, you stop making money immediately!

Your boss may tolerate your laziness for a few days but if you don’t put in the hours, you will never get any more pay whether it is weekly, daily or monthly pay! If you keep on trading time for money, you will never be free from your job! Online assets are different. Here are a few principles that you can apply to your online mentality:

1• Leveraging on the Internet: You can draw in traffic from search engines or viral marketing.

1• Leveraging on other Internet marketers. You do not need to build a mailing list if you have created a fantastic product that will keep customers buying and affiliates selling over and over again.

1• Leveraging on your mailing list. The money is definitely in the list. It takes 15-30 minutes to write a proper E-mail to your mailing list. The great thing about E-mail marketing is you will take the same time to mail your list regardless if your list has 100 people or 100,000 people

1• Leveraging on your reputation online: A blogger may start with no RSS subscribers, but the more you blog and the more you network, you will be blogging for the same effort but with more people reading your blog (and you will be able to monetize from the traffic!)

1• Leveraging on outsourced work. If you are making good money, you will be able to outsource your work to other people and spend more time on marketing your products (hence, making more money!)

PART I: LEVERAGE

Group Leverage

Like a long pole, that can shift a great weight with little effort; such is the case with succeeding in business.

Your chances of succeeding- as an 'army of one' fall somewhere between zip, zilch and nill.

Social Marketing [i.e. Joint Venture Marketing] is the critical key to enjoying on-going success. There are approximate 100,000,000+ Web sites out there...and growing daily.

Without some good old' fashion Joint Venture Networking skills under your belt; you chances of *not* getting noticed are virtually guaranteed! Though there are many different types of leverage, two- in particular- will be explored in this segment:

Joint Venture Marketing Leverage

All but gone [certainly rare, to say the least] are the days when you could merely just e-mail an E-zine Publisher with a copy of your offerings and a 50% profit-share.

You've got to captivate your potential Joint Venture Partners with a more strategic, longer-range heap of killer benefits, as well. Prove to them that you are extremely sensitive to *their* overall wants, needs and desires- not yours or mine.

Good Strategic Joint Venture Alliances take time to cultivate...It's all about building trust.

When a List Master recognizes you as a genuine Expert within your niche, and that you just don't recommend anything that you- yourself- are not absolutely delighted with as the end-consumer...

They will be far more enthusiastic about JV'ing with you in the future, because people like to do business with people they know and trust...

- Are you someone who is trustworthy and whole-heartedly worth getting to know?

- Does your JV Proposal showcase *them* in the 'limelight'?

- Is your focus on assisting them, in every way within your means, to help them grow their business and become even more successful?

If not- You need to seriously reconsider your marketing priorities...before you 'figure it out' the hard way!

That said...nothing can propel you to [seemingly] overnight success like a well-thought-out and deftly-crafted JV- Nothing.

Every single truly successful marketer realized- at some point within their career- that in order to get to where their truly trying to be; they have to whole-heartedly and cheerfully assist others in doing the same.

This is especially true when making first contact with a good potential Partner...remember; it is you going to them, for something you want- Not the other way around.
Until you've cultivate your own Master List of 20,000, 50,000, even 100,000 Loyal Readers; and you are now the one getting slammed with 10 to 20 Joint Venture Proposals per day, on average...

To create successful, mutually beneficial JV's; you must pole-position your wants, needs and desires in such a way as to naturally resonate with/compliment theirs.
Often times, this is *much* easier said than done; as good JV Proposals require a fair and reasonable amount of selfless and candid receptiveness, attention to detail and deep meditation.

However...the dividends are supremely worth it!

Traffic Leverage

Short of having a 'bottomless wallet'...you will quickly realize, early in your online success endeavors; exactly just how difficult it is to drive consistent, quality traffic to your Web site.

Virtually all of the 'marketing gurus' trying to sell you how you, too, can quickly and easily make boatloads of cash online, with no out of pocket expenses; are feeding you a fat, stinky pile o' bull. Run...Fast!

And hide your wallet!!!

Furthermore, they straight-up buy their traffic, one way or another; until such point as they have established a monster downline of resellers [one of your primary goals, actually].

Ahhh, yes...

Then you too can- indeed- make boatloads of cash on the Internet and perhaps even become the next 'guru'...

Safe Rule of Thumb for ANY Business Endeavor

The more money [up front] you invest in yourself, the less time that you'll be shackled to your venture. The less money you are willing to you invest in yourself, the more time you will spend [exponentially] to overcome lack of funds.

In a nutshell, you can actually become quite successful on the Internet- generating a modest four figures a month- with virtually no out-of-pocket expenses. However...
Do plan on exercising Due Diligence and spending thousands of hours.

Hence, why it is critically important to choose something that you are 100% *absolutely* passionate about- as the end-consumer hobbyist!

I apologize if the blunt truth of the matter 'takes the wind out of your sails'...but, again- I wish someone was this brutally honest with me years ago!

“This will increase your profitability substantially, while cutting down your work load!”

Chapter #1:

Foundation in Financial IQ

Definition Of Insanity

Naturally, most if not all of us want and crave for something better. It is all part of us if we want a bigger car, a better house, buying good things for the family. We keep hoping for more but, in order to get what you don’t have, you have got to do something you have never done before.

That simply means:

Doing the same thing over and over again YET expecting different results!

As an employee, you can’t stay at the same job forever and hope that a miracle will happen and your boss will suddenly give you a raise. You will be lucky that there is no downsizing in your company. Switching to another company will only provide a short term solution to a long term problem.

Sure, you can take up a second or even third job, but do you have enough hours and stamina in a day to sustain it?

The bottom-line: Trading time for money isn’t wise financial sense in the long term. You keep on increasing the hours just to win the rat race, but in the end of the day, you are still a rat on the mill!

Increasing your wages only puts you in a higher tax bracket. Your salaries increase but so does your expenses on your house and car. How will you invest in yourself when all the time you spend working for a company, working for the government paying taxes and working for the bank paying off your house and car? What if you fall sick and can’t work tomorrow? Will the government take care of your family?

I highly doubt so.

So isn’t it time you take your finances a tad more seriously?

What Is Money?

You see, there are many ideas of what people think money is.

Some say it is a form of measurement.

Yes, but a measurement of what? Wealth? In the olden days, people measured wealth by how many cows, sheep and horses they had. But do people measure wealth today by your cows and horses? How about slaves? Was there a time where manpower is considered a hot commodity? Are slaves worth anything today? Are your dollar bills sitting in the bank going to protect you if a recession strikes the country? No, wealth can not be measured by the dollar bill.

Some say it is a form of power.

Yes, money can give you power, but if you are stuck on a desert island forever with a trillion dollars, will that money mean squat to you? If someone offered you water and a helicopter to fly out of there, you would trade all your money in a split second, so money is not an accurate measurement of power – it heavily depends on how and wisely you use it (hint!).

Many believe it is the root of all evil… and several others take on this belief without much questioning.

Now, now, now… money is NOT the root of all evil (otherwise, why do you think churches still accept monetary donation and charity?). The love of money is the root of all evil. Remember, money is an excellent servant but a terrible master. If you are trading your life away for the dollar, money then has power over your time and life.

And unless you have proper financial intelligence, the lack of money can spawn a lot of evil thinking and negative mindset as observed in primarily cheats, thieves, criminals, breakups, freeloaders, cheapskates, and more to name.

But what is money, really?

Money is an idea, backed by confidence.

While money has naturally been developed by merchants in the older days to replace the questionable barter system, money today is literally invented by the rich and wealthy.

Entrepreneurs are willing to part with their money to buy other people’s time. Other people’s time i.e. employees and self-employed people becomes their employer’s asset and the employers this priceless resource to go on to create more wealth for themselves.

And here’s the thing: as long as you work for money, you are enslaved by it! 80% - 90% of the populations today are being enslaved involuntarily.

What we don’t realize is that there is a part of our soul that cannot be bought at whatever price. Would you chop off your little finger if your boss offered you 24 months of your salary immediately? You and I know we are worth more than that. But when you hear of cases of people selling their body parts for cash in some countries, we can have our eyeballs pop out of our eye sockets.

On the other hand, we occasionally DO sell out a part of ourselves for money like a donkey and a carrot.

Profit Funnel Ideas PLR Ebook

The Profit Funnel Plan

Nothing warms the cockles of a salesperson more than getting a new client. Often you are able to secure that new client because you have a quality core good or service that is provided at a competitive price.

While you may not make a great deal off that initial offering, there will no doubt be the chance to build on your initial rapport with your new client and engage in the task many sales people know as “up-selling.”

That is where the concept of the Profit Tunnel comes into play.

The Profit Tunnel is your pathway to building a relationship with your customer that begins with the purchase of initial goods or services. Once that initial relationship is established, you build on that relationship by evaluating the needs of your client and identify other goods or services that will also benefit your customer.

As you are able to acquaint, interest, and finally sell additional and often higher priced items to your customer, your profit margin will increase. The Profit Tunnel model works very well whether you are working with a brick and mortar business or going strictly with an online presence.

In both instances, the task involves winning the confidence of the prospect, identifying entry level products or services that will be of interest to the prospect, selling the prospect on the goods or services, and then continuing to offer additional products or enhancements that will make life even easier for that former prospect that is now your customer.

Low Ticket

When it comes to winning the confidence of a prospect, nothing speaks louder than a good deal. Persons who are responsible for securing goods and services for their employer love to save the company money.

It enhances his or her reputation with the officers and owners. At the same time, no one wants to end up with a low cost service that ends up being a dud. This means the good or service needs to perform well along with being cost efficient.

Your job is to match low cost quality goods or services with the business type of your prospect. Once you demonstrate how one of your low cost offerings will consistently outperform the competition and save money for the prospect’s employer, you will be poised to help roll out your low cost offering throughout the organization, making your profit in volume distribution initially.

Once your offering is functioning throughout the organization, you may find that not only do you have the ear of your initial contact, but now you have the ability to interact with persons throughout the organization that may be interested in other offerings that you can supply.

Providing additional goods or services that are in a similar price range will be another way you will increase the profit margin. This is sometimes referred to as lateral selling.

Simply put, you are not really pushing items with a higher price tag, or even enhancements to services you have already sold which would increase the profits. You are simply broadening your current situation to include more of the same, from a charge perspective.

There is nothing wrong with lateral selling. In fact, it can be quite profitable. However, in time it reaches a point where there is no more room for more of the same and you need to move on to the next level.

Now safely ensconced with several low cost offerings, you can begin to look at other needs of your customer. Chances are you have goods or services that may be used on a less frequent basis, but carry a higher price tag.

With your low cost items working just fine for your client, you will easily be able to gain attention for these mid priced offerings.

As part of your presentation, it is important to demonstrate not only what you have to offer today, but also be prepared to present the attributes of the offering in such a way that your client can begin to brainstorm possibly uses within the organization.

You may want to have one or two ideas ready, just to prime the thinking process, if necessary. But the more your client can come up with possible uses, the greater his ownership of using the mid ticket item will become, and the closer you will be to another sale.

Be prepared to have to wait until the timing is right to spring your mid ticket item on your client. If the item is only going to be used a few times a year, the interest level may not be there until the time is growing near for the next relevant event.

By all means introduce the item but if your client wants to put off the discussion until closer to time, lock in a date and time to renew the discussions.

Chapter 1: Fear - Definition, Symptoms, and Causes

What is Fear?

Whether a danger is psychological or physical, fear helps to notify us of the threat of harm or presence of danger. Fear involves a high individual emotional response and a universal biochemical response. Fear is a primitive, powerful, and natural human emotion. While fear can be an indication of mental health conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder, phobias, social anxiety disorder, and panic disorder, it can as well originate from imagined dangers but it often stems from real threats.

However, take note that fear that's highly personalized is stemming from an emotional response and on the other hand, our body as well responds in specific ways when we face a perceived threat — this is a biochemical reaction. Fear is a survival mechanism and a natural emotion and, high adrenaline levels, increased heart rate, and sweating are some of the physical reactions to fear.

Symptoms

As earlier mentioned, you can react emotionally or physically, or even both, to fear. While it's possible that we all may react to fear in different ways, here are some common symptoms of fear:

- Upset stomach
- Trembling
- Sweating
- Shortness of breath
- Rapid heartbeat
- Nausea
- Dry mouth
- Chills
- Chest pain

Some people also have the tendency of experiencing psychological symptoms of having a sense of impending death, feeling out of control, being upset, or being overwhelmed

Causes

Fear is more complex than how most people see it. While some people may trivialize fear and say it's for the weak, even the strongest person on the planet has his or her own fear. Think of the strongest wrestler or boxer in the world. Would you think such a person would have fears- Apparently, what we fear is different, and what makes someone fearful can be more complex or less complex, compared to another person.

They don’t know your store even exists. You may have emailed a couple of friends or family regarding your new site, but you never thought that you would have to put in a lot of time advertising it. So where do you start A domain name is searchable with most search engine servers.

If you are out there the search engines will find you but only if you add things to your site to make it searchable. Domain name marketing is a way to get your name out to the search engine servers and everyone you correspond with. They are all potential business leads, and you need each one of them. Using domain name marketing is a great way to make sure everyone knows that you are open for business. Start your domain name marketing today so you can get into the game.

Success Starts With Domain Name Marketing

When you start your own business, you want to find a way to drive customers to your store. Domain name marketing is becoming more common to use in advertising your online business. Domain name marketing is easy once you figure out how to do it.

To start you need to have a website up and running online. This will help you come up with a great domain name and peak your potential customer’s interests.

Marketing is a great way to tell the world that you are in business and when you get a chance stop in and visit. Make sure you protect your domain name by registering it before you advertise.

Chapter 1: How To Use Domain Name Marketing

A domain name is your way of being identified on the internet.

The name that you choose will determine how many potential clients or customers you will have.

You need to be very careful what name you select as it will be used to describe your business. Don’t use a name that does not reflect on the products you sell or the service that you provide.

Choosing a domain name is vital to any online business. When you use email marketing to attract your potential customers your domain name will be the name that the recipient will see.

When you use domain name marketing to increase your business income you will need to spend a little extra time determining what group of people you will want to reach the most.

If you have a product for teens, you don’t necessarily need to sell it to adults. You need to know how to grab their attention.

Your domain name will speak for your business and provide the email recipient with the information they need to determine if they will delete your email or open it.
If you are not sure what to select as your domain name you may want to hire someone who works on domain name marketing.

These agencies can be found online and can help you determine what domain name would be right for you based on the information you provide to them regarding your product descriptions and what your goal is. Domain name marketing is the best way to get the word out.

The Importance Of Selecting a Domain Name

Selecting the right name for your website is the most important step you can take when starting your own business.

The name will tell people what you have to offer and will help them decide if they are interested in looking further. There are several ways you can select your domain name to bring in your customers.

If you are starting your first website, you may feel overwhelmed by the many choices that you have to make. Make yourself a list to help you get started.

First of all, you want to write down all the products or services you will be offering. Determine what age group or groups these products would benefit the most.

After you determine these factors, choose your name that will combine both the products and the age group to create a successful domain name.

When you create your name, you need to convince others to visit your site by domain name marketing.

Chapter 1:

Systemization – An Overview and Benefits

The Internet has changed the way people think about companies, especially when it comes to owning a small business. Millions of people have tried to start an online business, with many of them finding success. While there are several reasons why one might fail to get their online business off the ground, one of the main reasons is because the owner was unable to systemize the company and utilize the available resources.

People who have found success with their online business know that they need a great idea, as well as the resources to cultivate a customer base for that great idea. They also understand that the same daily activities that are done in a brick and mortar business, also apply to an online business. They know that they will need to take the necessary steps to either learn those skills or outsource them to trusted and reliable sources is about combining the vision with the practicalities of the business world to become successful. The process of systemization is no great mystery. It is possible to learn how to effectively systemize your business and position yourself to run a successful online business that makes a profit on a consistent basis.

What is Systemization?

Many online business owners, when they hear the word “systemization,” turn to the idea of an endless array of meetings that create a ton of action items that must be followed up on at the next meeting so even more action items can be created. In short, people believe that systemization is nothing more than an ongoing, convoluted series of processes that only make running a business more complicated. This couldn’t be further from the truth.

Having a systemized business doesn’t mean that you’ll be caught up in so many policies and procedures that you lose all ability to work on anything productive and it’s not about filling time or creating the illusion of being busy. Systemization is not about creating a machine and being dominated by that machine. Systemizing your business doesn’t have to be complicated.

True systemization is about creating a stable functioning procedure that knows what needs to be done, has a way to do it, and gets the job done. When you have a truly systemized business, you free up more of your time to focus on more important aspects of your business, like marketing, strategy, and product creation.

When your company is systemized correctly, the procedures make sense and always have a purpose. With systemization, everyone in the business knows what to do and when to do it. There are no endless meetings to deal with, no complicated policies to follow, and no time wasted with spinning the wheels.

This isn't to say that all the processes within an adequately systemized business are going to be fun. However, when organized properly, the tasks can be completed in a reasonable amount of time, leaving the rest of the day to work on something more interesting, like converting more prospects to buying customers, creating a new product line, or writing new sales copy. True business systemization, frees you, while a lack of systemization creates endless work and stifles your ability to succeed.

Why You Need to Systemize Your Online Business?

There are many benefits that you can gain by systemizing your online business. With a sound system, people in your organization have a clear understanding of the work they need to perform and what is expected of them. Without policies, there are many unanswered questions, and quality and service can’t be guaranteed. Now that you understand why it's good to have a systemized business let's explore the benefits that you can gain.

Reduce Costs

Managing your email inbox or reading through piles of mail isn't the most efficient use of your time. As the business owner, your time would be better spent analyzing new business opportunities or developing new product lines. Delegating many of the days to day tasks that are required to run a business, can free up your time so you can focus your energy on the activities that will allow you to grow your business and increase revenues.

Without clearly documented business procedures, you can’t delegate those daily tasks that eat up most of your time. By recording your processes, you can easily delegate tasks knowing that they will be done correctly, allowing you to free up your time to oversee more projects, which brings in more revenue for your growing business.

Increase Efficiency

Documenting procedures allows you to discover any unnecessary steps that you may be taking. When you record your systems, you provide yourself with the opportunity to improve the process, which can result in cutting costs and freeing up your valuable time to grow your business. It can also help you complete tasks with fewer mistakes. Taking the time to document new procedures and re-document existing procedures can provide you with opportunities to make the daily tasks more efficient and freeing up your time to focus on growing business revenue.

Improve Performance

Businesses that lack procedures often have employees that have their own way of handling tasks. While this can make your employees happy, it can also lead to inefficiencies. Not having documented procedures can lead your team to complete the same function in different ways. Recording the best way to perform the task will allow everyone to become more efficient in his or her jobs and improve their performance.

Improve Communication

One of the biggest killers of time and profit in a business is miscommunication. When there are no documented procedures in place, internal and external communication becomes a huge issue. When you have clearly written procedures, there are fewer arguments over how things should be done.

Scale Your Business

Having procedures in place for training new staff will reduce the stress your current staff endures when training new team members. Following documented hiring procedures will allow you to hire the right people for each job and they'll be able to follow procedures without requiring additional assistance.

When your new hires receive better training, they can become more productive at their jobs. They can be trained in a way that reduces the number of mistakes being made and improve their overall performance. When your employees perform better, you can gain more sales and have fewer errors to deal with, ultimately cutting costs.

Measure Your Progress

While the money coming into your business is one way to measure your progress, being able to measure your marketing efforts or the development process of new products will provide you with a better picture of the health of your company. If your business is organized and has clear documentation of your procedures in place, you will be able to quickly check on these things, as well as other areas of concern and obtain real-time data on how they are doing.

Introduction

Welcome to the digital age.

While we take for granted much of the technology that surrounds us and the way it has changed the way we work and relax; it’s actually very important to recognize just how much it has impacted our lives.

Today we are constantly bombarded by information and stimulation and it is taking its toll on our brains. Meanwhile, the expectations placed on us by our work have only increased because of greater productivity tools and enhanced connectivity.

And it is not just technology that has changed life for us either. The demands placed on us in other areas have also increased. The world is more populous, living costs have gone up and our roles in society have changed. More and more women are now working full time, which while a good thing, has created new challenges in trying to raise and care for our children. The roles of men have likewise become increasingly uncertain and competition for employment is fiercer than ever.

Don’t get me wrong – none of this is bad in itself! Having greater access to entertainment, being able to communicate with anyone in the world and enjoying greater equality than ever before are all good things. The state of the economy is a little less rosy. But all in all, times are good.

The problem? We’re having a hard time keeping up with all this change!

And it’s leading to burnout.

For a great number of us, the demands placed on us are simply too great for us to shoulder. The constant stimulation and constant bombardment of information is leading to burnout. And knowing how to get what we want from life is seemingly impossible.

Our brains evolved in entirely different environments and they simply aren’t designed to thrive under these conditions. The result is what we call ‘overwhelm’. That means too much information, too much pressure, too much to do and too little time. We end up stressed, exhausted and disorganized and it’s just not good for our health.

The Modern Dilemma

Perhaps this sounds familiar:

You wake up first thing in the morning with a jolt because your alarm has gone off. In a rush, you clean your teeth and get ready for work while watching the news on whichever device you prefer.

You pack your family off for school and work respectively and then you set off yourself. You’re late, because it took you 20 minutes to choose what you were going to wear and to find your keys. And because you lay there on the couch for 5 minutes doing nothing.

What follows is a tedious and frustrating 10-90 minutes of commuting – complete with angry fellow commuters, stuffy carriages and probably a fair amount of time spent playing Candy Crush. By the time you get into work, you’re already stressed, late and feeling a headache come on from peering at a small screen under artificial lighting.

You then have a strong coffee, leaving you feeling wired, and you open your inbox to 10,000 emails (okay, maybe that’s an exaggeration but you get the point!). You set yourself some things to achieve for the day – just so you can get back to feeling ‘on top’ of work, but then you spend the next 20 minutes on Facebook and YouTube watching cat videos.

And staring at photos of your friends on sunny holidays wondering what went so wrong with your life…

Lunch comes and you feel like you’ve barely done anything. You head out for lunch and grab the cheapest thing you can find that’s sugary and have another strong coffee.

This doesn’t exactly fuel you with energy for the second half of the day, which is spent largely putting out fires. How can you be expected to progress in your career and to get the kind of lifestyle you want, when you’re spending the whole-time treading water?

By the end of the day, you’ve spent most of your time responding to emails and trying not to get distracted. You end up leaving an hour late, which is followed by another hour of commuting.

You’re now home at 7pm. You should make a healthy meal for your family, maybe suggest a fun activity that you can all get up to?

But you’re completely stuck for inspiration, so instead you put on a pizza and a film and crash on the couch for the next hour.

The house is untidy and messy though, so you feel generally anxious and stressed instead of getting any relaxation.

There were things you were meant to do this evening too: calling your friend who you haven’t spoken to in ages for example was high on the list.

So was paying that bill. Only you can’t face the idea of paying that bill because you don’t want to rummage through the piles of documents on your desk. You’re not even sure you can find the bill anymore. Which would mean calling them on your lunch break to get them to send out another one.

You haven’t even looked at your bank account because you don’t want to know how bad it is. You’re supposed to be saving for a mortgage/your kids’ college fund, but you have that stag/hen party coming up that you can’t really afford but can’t really get out of either…

And you don’t want to call your friend because you’ve now only got an hour left before you start getting ready for bed. And how can you justify calling that friend when you haven’t paid the bill? So you avoid looking at the WhatsApp message because you don’t want them to see that you’ve seen it.

Let alone spending any time with your wife/husband?

Then you get an email from work reminding you how much you have to do tomorrow, which only stressed you out further. You browse Facebook a bit more and respond to some notifications from Candy Crush.

Then you hit the sack – later than planned – and having done barely any of the things you wanted to do. You still haven’t read that new book you bought and were excited about.

Maybe tomorrow will be a better day?

Except you can’t get any sleep because you’re stressed, and you just spent the last hours before bed looking at screens. And the coffee is still in your system…

And at the weekend you have about 20 things to do and that dinner party you’re supposed to be going to.

Conquering Information Overload – What You Will Learn

That last section wasn’t designed to make you feel even more stressed and anxious than perhaps you already are. Rather, it was intended to draw attention to some of the very real issues that we face on a daily basis.

Most of us simply have too much to do, we are too ‘wired’ and we are too bombarded with information, decisions and more. Approximately half of us are burned out because we’re trying to do too much and because we’re struggling just to keep afloat. The irony is that we actually end up achieving less the more we try and squeeze in and as such, we can never get ahead.

But there is an answer and there are ways around these problems.

The secret is organization.

It might sound like a small thing but staying organized is actually everything in today’s environment. By staying organized and keeping on top of all that information, those huge to-do lists and your calendar, you can take each challenge one step at a time.

You can automate some of the work that is taking up the most time and energy, you can delegate and you can find better ways to think about the problems and challenges that come up.

Once you learn to prioritize, organize and schedule, you’ll find life becomes MUCH more manageable and that you have far more time for yourself, your family and your goals. You get to actually enjoy life again, while at the same time standing more of a chance of achieving everything you want to achieve.

Introduction

Do you ever get the feeling that your life isn’t panning out quite the way it was meant to? Do you ever feel as though you’re perhaps not taking full advantage of your freedom, of your health, of your youth?

For many of us, life can feel like a long gauntlet of different tasks and responsibilities, punctuated by long periods of sitting around bored.

We read stories, watch films and play computer games that feature brave and bold heroes venturing into unknown lands, facing challenges and generally living lives filled with excitement and exploration. Meanwhile, our own lives consist of sitting in an office all day getting shouted at by our boss, coming home on the train during a busy commute and then sitting in at home on the couch not doing much at all. Or maybe washing up. Our bodies are literally wasting away from a lack of movement, our minds are starting to decay from a lack of challenge or interest and in general, we are no longer challenging or pushing ourselves.

And the most excitement we typically have is choosing which film to watch on a Friday night…

But there’s a whole world out there.

We often have dreams and we have plans to get out and see the world, or to start living a lifestyle that we’d actually find engaging and rewarding. But too often those plans seem just out of reach:

perhaps we don’t have the money to afford to travel. Maybe we have too many responsibilities and can’t take our children out of work. Maybe we’re progressing too far in our current jobs.

Maybe we’re just too tired, too stressed and too depressed to really take the effort to actually change our lives.

Maybe you work the job you work not because we’re passionate about it, or because you find it exciting; but rather because you needed to start earning an income fast and this was the first place that you could do so.

Maybe you thought you’d change careers at some point but then you met your partner and settled down. Or maybe you started to progress up the ladder and moved out into rented accommodation.

Either way, you now feel trapped. There’s no way out. And no way to have that fulfilling and exciting life that you dreamed of.

But every now and then, you see an image from a friend on Facebook, or perhaps from an advert or a blog, showing people who have found a way out of the rat race. People who seem to spend most of their time on beautiful beaches, cocktails in hand.

People who are pursuing work that they care about and feel rewarded by. But more importantly: people who work primarily as a way to fund a lifestyle that they actually feel excited about.

How?

They became digital nomads. And with this book, you can do the exact same thing…

What is a Digital Nomad?

So just what is a digital nomad?

Essentially, becoming a digital nomad is your way out. This is how you escape the rat race and start to see the world. A digital nomad is someone who works online and who uses that style of work in order to be able to travel, see the world and live a life of adventure.

Sounds too good to be true right?

But it makes perfect sense. Today, travel is cheaper than it has ever been. Budget airlines make it incredibly affordable to visit countries all over the world, while trains and coaches connect land within continents.

Then you have things like AirBnB and Couchsurfing – sites that make it even cheaper to find accommodation abroad and to really live as a part of the country you’re in.

Meanwhile, more and more people are starting to earn a living online. Many businesses are allowing their employees to work remotely, using tools like video conferencing software and collaboration software in order to stay in touch and continue working as part of the team.

Those with an entrepreneurial streak meanwhile can just as easily make money from selling services online as web developers, writers, photographers or coders. Or they can create their own businesses that can be run from anywhere in the world: blogs for example, or affiliate marketing schemes.

And when you marry these two developments, it means that there is no longer any need to work from a small crowded office. You can take your work with you on the road and that road is open to more people than ever before.

Nothing is keeping you trapped in your current lifestyle. Nothing is stopping you from throwing on a backpack and heading out that door, to begin a lifetime of adventure and travel.

Of course there are going to be a few challenges and struggles along the way. How do you travel if you have a family for example? How do you transition to working online? And how do you ensure that you’re able to stay productive when you’re lost in another country?

We’ll be answering all those questions in this book, so sit back, grab a cup of coffee and let’s spend the next hour or so learning how you can become truly free again.

Just as you were always meant to be.

Chapter 1:

Domain Flipping – An Overview

Buying and selling domain names can be an exceptionally lucrative venture to get into, however if you are starting off with very little cash flow, it's always best to purchase lower cost domains and generate small profits as you work your way up to larger flips.

I have sold hundreds of domain names that I secured from marketplaces like Ebay and resold on marketplaces like NamePros.com or DNForum.com.

While the marketplaces where domain sales are most lucrative will change from that of website flipping, the game remains the same with your focus being on locating and purchasing low cost domains and flipping them for a higher price.

One of the great aspects of domain flipping is that the efforts required are minimal. No longer must you locate or integrate content, tweak website pages, outsource tasks, or transfer websites.

All you need to do is find memorable, appealing domain names in niche markets and sell them to buyers, eager to create their own website on this domain.

Furthermore, the risks are quite low as are the investment costs, and once you have set up your system so that you are generating daily profits, it will require no more than one hour a day to keep the cash flow going.

Many of my partners, students and friends are earning $500 - $2,500 per week from flipping low cost domain names, while others have gone to secure high value domain names that are generating them revenue even before they are resold.

It's not a difficult business to get into, if you follow my simple guide to buying and selling domain names.

To start, you will want to create accounts at the following places, where you can both buy and sell domain names:

www.NamePros.com
www.DNForum.com
www.Ebay.com
www.SitePoint.com

Chapter 2:

How to Choose Perfect and Relevant Domain Name?

When it comes to finding the best domain names, the easiest route to take is in exploring the expired domain listings.

With expired domain names, it simply means that they have previously been registered and left to expire. These are far more appealing to buyers due to the fact that they are considered 'aged', despite the fact that they have expired and are no longer active domains.

I use a few different resources when locating expired domain names that I believe to be winners, one being the free service located at www.WSMDomains.com and http://www.RedHotDomainNames.com

Here, you are able to access and download lengthy listings of both expired domain names as well as domains that are about to expire.

Download lists of expired domain names each day, and run them through a filtering script, such as the one available at:

www.alouwebdesign.ca

Another filtering tool is available at:

www.DomainPunch.com/products/domainfilter and it’s entirely free.

What this script will do is enable you to sort through the listings of domains by extension, as well as weed through domains that have numbers or hyphens.

It’s quite flexible in how you can set it up to filter through these lists for you, hands free.

Best of all, it can handle very large text based lists.

Download and install the software and check it out. You will find it will save you an incredible amount of time and make the job easier and more enjoyable.

When it comes to purchasing domain names for resale, you want to stick with the top level extension, the dot com, and avoid any domains with numbers, or other characters.

You will also want to focus on searching for expired domain names that are as short as possible, and with utilities such as the one available at alouwebdesign.ca, you are able to search through your lists by setting a maximum and minimum length, meaning that you can sort through the domains so that only ones that are shorter will appear.

Personally, I set the maximum length to 20 characters and of course, the minimum to zero, so that it includes the shortest domain names on my expired lists.
You will also need to enter in specific keywords, these are words that when contained within any of the expired domains, will be included in the results page after you have entered in your list and filtered through the results.

Creating a keyword swipe file is an ongoing job, and one that you should concentrate a lot of effort on, as the more prime keywords you enter into the software, the better your chances of finding true gems.

This comes down to the niche markets you cater to, and you should take a bit of time to start creating a list of keywords in a text file that you can copy and paste into the software.

Apart from targeted keywords, you should also consider thinking outside the box a bit, by drumming up a list of memorable keywords that when added to a domain can be used for branding purposes.

I've sold countless domain names contrived of two keywords that really made no sense together but because of the sound, the appeal and the brand-ability factor, they were gobbled up quickly.

Think about some of the Internet's most popular websites like Twitter.com, Facebook.com or FeedBurner.com whose domains are off the beaten path but definitely memorable, which is one of the best important elements of a domain names profitability.

Take some time to get familiar with both the expired domain websites as well as the software available to help you manage the lists and weed through potential gems.
Once you have sorted through your lists, it's time to run the remaining domains through a bulk domain registration tool, to determine what domains are still available, as others downloading these lists may have scooped up a few already.

One great resource for checking large domain lists for availability is available at www.Moniker.com where you can enter in hundreds of domain names and allow the software to validate whether the domains are available or have been registered.
