Your Computer: You need a good computer if you are going to host a webinar. You don’t necessarily need to run out and buy a new, state-of-the-art computer intended for graphic intensive business applications unless your own computer performs very poorly.

What you need to make sure of are things like CPU speed and multiple cores – a quad core at the minimum. You also need a sufficient amount of RAM, with 4 GB being the absolute minimum and you’ll want to make sure that you have a solid soundcard, video card and Ethernet port on your computer.

Your Internet Connection: This one has just a couple of very specific requirements: you need to have a wired connection, not a Wi-Fi connection, and you need to have a lot of upload and download speed. 10 Mb connections are the starting point for running webinars.

Your Webcam: If you plan to use streaming video during your webinar, you are going to need a good HD webcam that sends out a professional video feed to your attendees. Anything less than HD is considered unprofessional in this day and age.

Your Microphone: A good USB microphone that has the quality that you want for a webinar (for about $100) is the Blue Yeti. However, there are other choices too. Get a really good microphone though that sends out a very clear, very professional audio stream. Don’t rely on your laptop microphone or a cheap USB mic.

Step Three: Plan Your Presentation

Your next step in the process will be to plan your presentation. This can be challenging if you have never hosted a webinar before. However, if you follow these steps you will have a presentation that is worth presenting on launch day.

Why Your Current Training and Fitness Routine is Not Enough

Consider for a moment the circumstances that led to our evolution and to our current state of being. Put simply, humans have thrived because we are able to adapt very well to our environment. To that end, we have a nervous system and musculature that is inherently plastic and able to change, warp and adapt as
the situation demands. We grow new neuronal connections, we develop specific muscles and others atrophy all at the same time.

And our brains and bodies love to adapt in these ways. When we learn new movements and when we challenge our bodies in new ways, it triggers the release of reward chemicals – endorphins and dopamine

– which help to reinforce and cement the specific sequence of movements and thoughts that led to that effective movement. This triggers the formation of new connections and that in turn is what keeps the brain youthful, adaptive and learning.

In turn, this makes it easier for us to learn other new things and keeps our brain dynamic and growing. This has been shown to be highly protective against age-related cognitive decline and more serious cases of dementia and Alzheimer’s. In short, if you don’t use it, you lose it.

Meanwhile, complex and challenging movement is what allows us to train all of our supporting muscles, our proprioception, our balance and more. It’s what maintains our flexibility and it’s what gives us functional strength that can actually translate into useful power when we’re working and playing.

But this is not what most of us get from our current routines.

Instead, most of us will spend a good 8-10 hours of every day working in an office. When we’re not working in the office, we’re commuting to and from work.

All this time we are sitting. In the dark. While highly stressed.

When we’re not commuting in and out of work, we’re probably sitting at home in front of the TV.

Sitting is incredibly bad for your health. For starters, it takes years off of your life due to the considerable lack of activity which allows your heart atrophy.

Meanwhile, it causes serious changes to your musculature. Your hip flexors – the muscles that you use to curl your legs behind you – will become stretched and weakened. Meanwhile, your hip extensors – the muscles in your legs that you use for kicking – will become tightened and shortened as your knees are constantly as high as your waist. This creates an imbalance that results in more pressure being placed on one side of your pelvis than the other. This is what leads to an ‘anterior pelvic tilt’ where the pelvis leans forward forcing your buttocks outward and actually making you physically shorter! Of course this isn’t terribly good for your pelvis or your back either and can lead to pain and discomfort.

At the same time, being at the computer all day means that your neck is constantly craned upward, while your arms are stretched forward. This causes a similar tightness and shortness in the pectoral muscles while weakening and stretching your lats and traps. The result is that you end up with a hunch-back posture which once again isn’t particularly attractive or functional.

Again, it’s very simple really: you spend all day in a single position which causes your body to adapt to that position. Some muscles become tense and stiff while others weaken and atrophy. The complete lack of variety in your movement means you get practically frozen in that position and this isn’t even a movement that we would have naturally used in the wild!

So we go to the gym to fix all this. But if you’re like most people, your version of fixing this will involve lifting weights through a very static range of motion using ‘single joint’ movements. These include the likes of bicep curls, which challenge you to curl a weight while bending only your elbow and bench press which further strengthens your pecs.

These exercises do not train the muscles in any functional manner because it isolates them. In the real world, we would only ever train our muscles in unison – working together as one tool and incorporating lots of smaller supporting muscles to help us balance and to give us more support as we go through various motions.

Step 1: Envision Your Journey

Notice I didn’t say plan yet. That’s because you’re not going to plan your journey just yet but you do need to have an idea in mind of what you want to do and where you want to go. Think about the countries you’d like to see, look for any particular landmarks or activities you’d like to get involved in and decide how long you want to go for.

While this isn’t a set-in-stone plan yet, what you are going to do is to try and be a little realistic at this point and decide exactly the kind of travelling you want to do and how you want to do it. And it also means thinking about the kind of travel you can do. Because being a digital nomad can mean different things to different people.

If you’re married with kids, then you might find it hard to up and leave. You’d have to either take them out of school, or be without them for long stretches. But that doesn’t mean you can’t still live the lifestyle – how about being a digital nomad within the country and working in different amazing places around where you are? Or how about going on lots of smaller trips?

If you choose to go for an open-ended trip, even better. But in that case, think about whether you want to go somewhere touristy, whether you want to go to Europe, or whether you’re going to climb mountains. Maybe you’ll do all three and you’ll plot a map through multiple countries.

Step 2: Ask Your Boss

A lot of people don’t feel terribly comfortable about starting an online business. Does that mean that they have to give up on the dream of being a digital nomad?
Not at all! Actually, they can just as easily become digital nomads by doing a ‘regular job’ but taking it on the road with them. Try speaking to your boss and see if you can do your current job while you’re travelling. If they say no, then try speaking with your current boss about the possibility of doing a different role within the organization. It’s nerve-wracking but you’ll probably find they’re more amenable to the idea than you expect. It is the 21st century after all…

No? Then another option is to look for other jobs. Again, this can be ‘normal’ employment just like you’d normally look for. The only difference is that you’re going to look for jobs that specifically lend themselves to working online. That could mean working on web design (which of course can easily be done online in most cases), being a copywriter or anything else. Some jobs will even mention in the job description that they allow you to work from home (which means ‘from anywhere’ to us!). Always be sure to double check in the interview though.

Step 3: Create Your Own Online Business

Failing that, you can create your own online business. This is a relatively easy thing to do, you just need to provide a service online and find clients who are willing to pay for that service.

So you might be a writer, a web designer, or a consultant. Alternatively, you could sell photography, you could run a blog or a vlog, you could look for a company to sponsor you on social media or you could sell a digital product or an affiliate product. There are tons of different business models you can run easily online and this is something you shouldn’t be afraid to experiment with.

Note that this doesn’t mean you have to hand in your notice tomorrow (as much as you might like to). There’s no need to take unnecessary risk, so instead, why not try creating an online business in your spare time to test your model and then quitting your day job only once you have proven that this method works.

For example, if your vision involves being in incredible physical shape, then your daily steps might involve working out for 15 minutes a day, or perhaps eating 1,800 calories a day. If your goal is to be a best-selling novelist, then your small steps will involve writing a page every night.

Instead of daydreaming, it’s time to get realistic and to actually start implementing realistic steps to getting what you want. No more excuses!

Step 3: Keep Your Vision in Mind

While performing these small steps though, you must always keep that overarching vision in mind. This is what will have the emotional hook for you and it’s what is going to give you the impetus to keep going even when you’re tired.

The basic steps to becoming a big YouTube sensation are relatively simple. The idea is simply to create a channel and then to post regular content there. This way, you can demonstrate to your audience that you’re an authority and that you know the subject you’re discussing. So over time, your content will grow and grow and you’ll find yourself developing following. It’s a simple but highly effective business model and the benefit of video is that it’s that much easier to really promote a product that you’ve created and to get people to really want it.

So now the question becomes: how do you build your following?

Because it’s important that you be prepared for the reality when you first get started. You might be hoping that you’ll upload your video and find yourself suddenly inundated with views. Unfortunately, what’s much more likely to happen is that you’ll upload your video and find you have zero views.

Loads of guys I know want to add muscle mass. And why not? When you’re a guy, having lots of muscle mass makes you feel imposing, intimidating and powerful. It changes the way that other guys look at you (which is to say, with a lot more respect) and it changes the way that women look at you as well.

Seeing as I’m in pretty strong shape myself, a lot of these guys will ask me for advice when it comes to bulking up. They want to know how they can add muscle mass without the risk of a disappointing failure and sometimes they’ll present me with their various training programs.

All too often, I find myself rolling my eyes.

Why?

Because the training programs and diet plans they present me with are almost always far too ambitious or just plain ineffective.

Take a recent example. One guy I know paid in excess of $300 for a ‘personalized’ online diet plan and what he showed me was utter garbage.

The diet plan took into account the macros he needed to eat, sure. The calories were based on a solid AMR calculation…

So far so good.

But the diet plan itself consisted of several incredibly difficult-to-follow meal plans that no-one normal would have the time, ability, or inclination to make and eat. As soon as you see a diet plan that includes some kind of fancy smoothie, you know you’re in trouble. The same goes for diets that involve elaborate methods for cooking and seasoning fish, with nice fruit chutneys on the side.

The guy who’d bought this plan is a pilot. That means that he is often staying overnight in different countries and being invited out for drinks with his pilot friends. That meant he would have to cook the meals in advance, freeze them and then bring them in Tupperware, hoping that they would only be defrosted by the time he was ready to eat them.

It also meant that on the few nights he got to share with his wife, they would be eating different things (she doesn’t want to bulk up, unsurprisingly).

And it meant that he wouldn’t be able to go out for a drink when offered.

The plan offered no alternatives and was completely inflexible.

And if it’s going to be any use, then he’s going to need to stick with it indefinitely. That’s right: he’s going to need to follow all that advice to the letter every single day, forever.

Well, good luck to him is all I can say!

And as you can imagine, the ‘exercise’ portion wasn’t much better. Which isn’t a huge surprise, seeing as the celebrity selling the plan is pretty stick thin!

So the idea of this report is to show you a different way. This guide will show you the basics of bulking but more importantly, it will show you how to create a program and a diet plan that you actually stick with. And along the way, we’ll point out all the usual stumbling blocks where people normally fail…

The Diet Component

When it comes to bulking up, eating the right diet is actually more important than exercising.

That’s because building muscle happens in two stages. First, you exercise and this causes you to break down muscle tissue and create ‘microtears’. This acts as stimulation to tell the body that it needs to repair that muscle and bring it back bigger. It’s a bit like you’ve marked the muscle for subsequent repair and growth.

The next stage is the rest stage. After your workout, you’ll then go and kick back on a sofa somewhere while eating lots – ideally maintaining a caloric surplus so your body knows it has spare energy and eating lots of protein to provide the building blocks for muscle tissue. Then your body grows.

If you exercise hard but don’t get the rest, then you’ll keep breaking down the tissue but without the chance to build it back up. If you exercise hard and don’t eat enough, then your body will be in starvation mode and will believe it doesn’t have the necessary energy to spare in order to build muscle. Moreover, it won’t have the protein that it needs in order to actually create muscle.

Muscle is made from protein. Trying to make muscle without protein is like trying to make a Lego house without Lego.
