Chapter 1: Understanding Depression

The very first and most obvious step when it comes to overcoming depression is to understand it and accept the fact that depression is a real illness.

What is Depression?

Depression or Major Depressive Disorder or clinical depression is a serious but a prevalent medical illness that has adverse effects on the way you feel about yourself and others, the way you think and the manner in which you act. There may have been a time when going to a particular place would make you happy from the inside, irrespective of what your mood or emotional state was. The very same place might fail to cheer you up when you feel depressed.

Depression doesn’t only change the way you feel about a person or a place; it has the potential to affect you physically and drastically reduce your ability to carry out the most basic functions – be it at home, school or at work. Sleeping, eating and working can become tasks that you will not enjoy let alone get through in the usual manner.

Types of Depressions:

Like every other medical condition out there, depression too comes in various kinds that may develop under unique and varied circumstances. The most common ones are – Persistent Depressive Disorder (Dysthymia), Perinatal Depression, Psychotic Depression, Seasonal affective disorder and Bipolar Disorder. It is fundamental to remember that the types are purely subjective to the person and may vary from person to person.

1. Persistent Depressive Disorder:

Dysthymia, as it's commonly called in the medical profession, is usually diagnosed after the depressed mood has lasted for at least two years. A patient diagnosed with Persistent Depressive Disorder usually exhibits episodes of major depression, accompanied by periods of symptoms which are not as severe. However, symptoms normally last for a minimum of two years.

These symptoms may include apathy, anti-social behavior or even wanting to be alone. They may also include personal neglect.

Symptoms

Persistent depressive disorder (PDS) symptoms come and go over a period of years, and their intensity can vary with time. However, typical symptoms do not disappear for a little over two months at a time. In addition to the recurrent symptoms, there are chances of prominent depression incidences occurring during or before persistent depressive disorder. This illness is also called double depression.

Are you ready to tap a HUGE global market for WordPress plugins? Keep reading and I’ll step you through the process of finding the right ideas, turning them into software specifications, getting your software coded, and selling your finished WordPress plugin product!

Research Profitable Plugin Ideas

Your first step is to find problems WordPress owners would want solved. While you can search for questions on Google and end up with random blog posts that might lead you on a wild goose chase, there’s an easier way to find common WordPress problems tons of blog owners might pay to get solved via plugins. How? Quora.Com

Quora is a powerful question and answer engine that is like Yahoo Answers but on steroids. Quora gets tons of views and is shared widely on social media as well as ranking highly (for many queries) on Google and other search engines.

Use Quora’s internal search engine to find questions related to WordPress. Look for similar-looking questions. This indicates people have the same basic question but they ask it in different ways. Pay close attention to how many users follow the questions.

If you find questions that ask about the same problem and their questions, as a whole, get a lot of follows, you have found a WordPress problem or functionality inquiry or request that MIGHT have a sizable audience.

Look for as many of these in demand solution requests/problems as possible. Remember to list only those that are followed by a lot of other users.

Dig Deeper And Validate Your Idea

One you have a list of functionalities or questions or feature requests, the next step is to go outside of Quora to validate the demand. Search for phrases related to the problems identified by your Quora research.

Do you notice lots of Google results discussing the same problems? If so, this is a good sign. If not, the problem might have a very narrow audience and is probably not worth your time and money developing into a plugin.

Next, look up forum discussions of the problem. Find developer or online marketing forums and see how intensively people talk about the problem. If you notice a lot of chatter, you are definitely on the right track. If you don’t find any forum discussions about the problem you’re thinking of solving via a WP plugin, this might be a red flag.

Finally, look up Twitter mentions of search phrases related to the problem you’re researching. Do you see at least some Twitter conversations? If so, you’ve got yourself a hot problem and you can then take the next step.

Determine What The Software Will Do

After researching all the Quora, Yahoo answers, forum, blog comment section, and social media discussions about the problem you’re researching, you should be familiar with the solutions people talk about. People might be mentioning all sorts of solutions.

It’s not uncommon for a thread starter to present a question only to get lots of answers using all sorts of approaches.

Look for the simplest solution offered. Usually, the simpler the solution, the easier it will be for you to spell out the software’s specifications. This also makes it easier for the coder you select to develop the WP plugin you wanted built.

Create Your Design Specifications

Once you have identified the simplest solution (usually the one that indicates the shortest distance from Point A to Point B), create a spec sheet.

Generally, WordPress plugins have basic parts: Interface, function, input, and results Try to create a step by step description of what you would like your plugin to do. Start at the core functionality you want the plugin to do.

A Tribute To Feeling Better About Yourself And Your World

Early on the morning of September 11, 2001the US experienced a devastating, never forgettable, event in the nation’s history. Nineteen hijackers took command of 4 commercial airliners en route to San Francisco or Los Angeles after takeoffs from Boston, Newark, and Washington, D.C. Airplanes with longer flights were purposely chosen for hijacking as they'd be heavily fueled.

At 8:46 a.m., 5 of the hijackers crashed the American Airlines Flight 11 into the twin towers north tower, and at 9:03 a.m., a different 5 hijackers crashed United Airlines Flight 175 into the south tower. The nation was in panic and NYC in devastation.

At 9:37 a.m.5 more hijackers flew American Airlines Flight 77 into the US Pentagon. A 4th flight, United Airlines Flight 93, under the command of 4 more hijackers, finally came down near Shanksville, Pa, at 10:03 a.m. after the passengers fought back against the hijackers. Flight 93's elemental target area is believed to have been either the Capitol or the White House.

Flight 93's cockpit voice recorder disclosed crew and passengers tried to seize command of the plane from the hijackers after learning through calls that similarly hijacked airplanes had been crashed into US buildings that morning. There were 2,977 victims in this senseless attack including those brave souls (first responders, firefighters, passengers who brought the plane down before it’s intended target and even passersby who went back into the building to rescue others) who thought of others before themselves.

How do we recover from this tragedy 10 years later as well as any other tragedy and feel better about ourselves and our world?

Like most people, I remember exactly where I was when I learned that two planes had struck the twin towers. A decade later, this major event in our history remains engraved in our brains, particularly for those who lost loved ones and friends.

When awful things occur, we might wonder, “Why try so hard when so many issues are beyond our control?” But whether we’re handling death, illness, or the day-to-day challenges of life, our power to cope is great if we have the right mindset.

The bonds between all people need to be strengthened. We need to unite against suspicion and mistrust. If we keep the faith and assist our fellow man we can emerge stronger. However as humans, we must remember that the battle has not ended. We all need to battle prejudice, ignorance and people being divided.

Chapter 1: What is Internet Marketing?

The term “internet marketing” has become associated with a broad range of topics in recent years. For many, it literally means only what it says: “marketing on the internet”, in which case it is seen as synonymous with “digital marketing” and “online marketing”. For others, however, it has come to be associated more specifically with the worlds of affiliate marketing, information products, and the “make money online” niche. For our purposes, we’ll lean more towards the former and will settle on the following definition:

Internet marketing is the use of internet properties and traffic to generate leads, sales, or brand awareness. This is typically done via search engine visibility, social media marketing, email marketing, and various forms of paid advertising.

One of the best ways to begin understanding internet marketing is to break down the various goals a business can seek to accomplish with it. The ultimate end goal of marketing is, of course, revenue. With that in mind, we can certainly classify sales as a primary goal of internet marketing and many businesses do focus on sending traffic directly to paid offers, whether digital product sales pages or physical product pages in an eCommerce store. However, for many businesses, sales remain a distant, long term goal. A more common immediate or short-term goal of internet marketing, however, is lead generation. By using the internet to affordably collect leads rather than make individual sales, a business can then use their lead list to continue marketing for free (or close to free) to potential customers from that point forward with the expectation that multiple future sales will increase the average lifetime value of each lead and result in a greater long-term ROI from each dollar spent on marketing.

Lead generation for an online business might consist simply of building an email list, perhaps with customer names associated as well. Lead generation for an eCommerce business or local “offline” business might also include physical mailing addresses and phone numbers so they can follow up in other ways such as telemarketing or mailing out catalogues and special offers. Other businesses might pursue even more robust lead data such as business information like industry categories or number of employees in the case of B2B marketing, or income ranges and family size in the case of higher-ticket B2C models like insurance sales or real-estate. Since lead generation is often seen as the most common and multi-faceted immediate goal of internet marketing, the entirety of chapter three will be devoted to the various methods and forms of lead generation.

Finally, another immediate goal of internet marketing is growing brand awareness and familiarity. For many businesses, this might consist of spending large amounts on banner advertisements or video ads primarily for the purpose of getting their brand name, logo, or unique selling proposition (USP) in front of as many eyes as possible as many times as possible. The idea here is to increase top-of-mind awareness so that the potential customer will think of the brand in future situations when they need that specific need fulfilled. For example, when a fast food chain airs ads on television, it’s not because they expect people to immediately hop in the car and go buy a burger because of it. It’s because they want you to think of their restaurant next time you clock-out for your lunch break and are deciding what to eat. The internet marketing equivalent of this might be an online tax service heavily investing in banner ads and video ads in December and January, not because they think people will suddenly start doing their taxes early, but because in April when 90% of Americans do their taxes at the last minute, their brand will be the first one they remember. Other forms of brand awareness might simply consist of frequent social media posting. Companies know that constantly seeing their brand image in their followers’ newsfeeds or Twitter feeds accomplishes that same top-of-mind awareness as well as other emotional associations with their brand such as loyalty, pride, good will, and humor (covered in more detail in Chapter two).

Chapter 2: Internet Marketing Methods

Regardless of whether your intended destination for traffic is a sales page, a lead page, or simply a piece of content, the potential internet marketing methods are manifold. We’ll cover the most common ones here.

Email Marketing

Email marketing is unique in this list for a very obvious reason: you already have their email address. In other words, the main goal of email marketing is sales, whereas the other methods in this list can have both sales and lead generation as a goal. Email marketing basically consists of sending promotional email messages to a list of leads, typically using an autoresponder service like GetResponse or Aweber. Email marketing can be done on a completely manual basis, in which a business sends out newsletters or offers at their respective times, or on an automatic basis, in which a list of leads are put through a sequence of pre-planned auto-responder messages.

More recently, the concept of marketing automation has become popular. This is where leads are put through a unique series of autoresponder sequences that change and adapt based on the actions of the lead and various “if this then that” (IFTTT) conditions established by the marketer. For example, if a lead does not open an email, they might be automatically sent a follow-up email asking why they hadn’t opened the previous one, or if a lead clicks on a certain link in an email which indicates they have a particular interest, they might be segmented into a separate list or new sequence that caters to that specific interest.

SEM

Search Engine Marketing consists of leveraging a search engine’s paid advertising platform to position your business as a “sponsored” search result in a prominent, visible place on Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs). The most popular search engines for SEM at the moment are Google and Bing. A business can setup their ad to target a group of keywords that they’d like to “rank” for, as well as selecting other variables such as demographics and location. These ads will then appear at the top or bottom of the SERPs (depending on various factors such as budget and bidding) and will have the appearance of a typical search result, with the one exception of a small word like “ad” or “sponsored” somewhere on it (this varies among search engines).

SEO

Search Engine Optimization is the use of various on-site and off-site practices and factors to make your web properties rank higher in search results. These practices include methods like keyword usage, original content, frequent updating/posting, backlinking, social sharing, bounce rates (how many people leave after viewing just one page), visitors’ average time on site, and the use of images and videos. Until around 2012, SEO was arguably considered the most vital internet marketing method around and, depending on your industry, it might still be.

However, in recent years the growing number of competing web properties in the online space have made ranking very difficult and expensive for many businesses. This, along with constant changes to some of the top search engines’ algorithms have led many businesses to conclude that paid SEM is more cost-effective than SEO. SEO still maintains its importance in many cases, however, such as in the case of local “brick and mortar” businesses whose search rankings are positively affected by the use of nearby city names in the search terms as well as the various search engines’ use of locational data.

Ad Networks

Ad networks are an excellent way to get your brand or offer in front of your target audience on a broad range of web properties. The most commonly discussed ad network is Google’s AdWords network but there are several other out there. Using these networks will allow you to place banner image ads, video ads, or simple textual ads in front of web traffic on a variety of websites. This approach can be especially powerful when combined with retargeting. This entails placing retargeting pixels on your web properties and then specifically targeting your site visitors via ad networks so that the offer they initially looked at (and are presumably interested in) starts following them around the internet wherever they go. This may sound creepy, but statistics indicate that people who are retargeted are 70% more likely to convert!

Individual Sites

Some marketers might prefer to do their advertising on a case-by-case basis by personally approaching individual, relevant websites, forums, or blogs in their niche or industry. When using this manual method, marketers should be sure to research the metrics of the given site, blog, or forum. Naturally you’ll want to display your ad in places with a reasonable level of traffic and a positive reputation to ensure your advertising dollars are spent well. You can learn a lot about websites by researching them on Alexa. That said, the majority of businesses tend to find the use of ad networks to be a more cost-effective way of advertising.

Social Media Marketing

Social media marketing has come a long way in the last several years and has changed the way many businesses think about marketing in general. For some marketers, social followers have replaced email addresses, posts and tweets have replaced promotional emails, and likes have replaced email opens. Virtually every successful business today has not only a social media presence, but a clearly defined social media strategy. Most of these strategies revolve around posting consistent content.

But it’s more than just posting promotions and offers. A successful social strategy will include various types of non-promotional content for various types of goals. Posting about a charitable cause associates your brand with feelings of goodwill. Posting about trendy topics makes your brand seem relevant. Posting useful tips without a sales pitch makes your business come off as genuinely helpful. Posting humorous or “feel-good” content associates your business with positive emotions, and so on. But more importantly, these types of non-promotional posts are accomplishing two other goals. First, they’re encouraging social sharing, which grows your following even more. Secondly, they’re creating top-of-mind awareness for your brand. People will get used to seeing your content and your business name, logo, and USP. As a result, when they have a problem that your business fixes, they’ll be more likely to think of you first.

The Print on Demand Playbook

Overview

Entrepreneurs, Authors and Digital Product creators are always looking for ways to increase profits without doing more work. One of the best ways to do that is to increase pricing on their products and services.

However, there are limits to that strategy if a customer doesn’t perceive the product or service to actually be worth more. One way to change the nature of the product’s perception without changing the content is to re-package it into a physical product.

So a PDF can become a paperback or hardback book. A downloadable video course can become a DVD Course delivered by mail. An interactive set of exercises on a website can become content delivered by CD.

In the past entrepreneurs haven’t taken this strategy because it can be cost or time ineffective. First, traditional publishing even in a hybrid arrangement typically starts at a $5,000 up front payment before any books are sold.

In addition to that, the author can be responsible for marketing and have to purchase numerous copies of their book. Moreover, the author tends not to have a lot of control over the number of books that arrive.

This puts them in the awkward position of having to “pitch” the books or content everyplace they go to brand or represent their business. The same constraints were true if the entrepreneur wanted to sell instructional CDs or DVDs.

Limited runs with a few sets were very expensive.

So the creator was faced with buying more than they needed and before a single sale was made. This took some of the profit out of creating information and selling it in the past. However, the digital information age has changed this and authors as well as information product creators now have cost effective options.

Because of Amazon.com’s website with both Kindle for EBooks and Createspace for Physical books, authors now have cost effective options for self-publishing their book.

Gone is the requirement of a significant fee up front in order to have a book published. Of course the entrepreneur then takes on more of the marketing that they would in a traditional publishing arrangement, but unless they were a recognizable name, they would have been responsible for much of their marketing anyway. Almost as important as being able to publish without up-front costs is being able to make purchases of physical books in a small a quantity as the entrepreneur desires.

This is important because that means that they never have to spend more than they desire before a sale is actually made. Createspace also provides the author with an ISBN number or gives them the option of getting their own.

As long as the book is representative of what the author’s best work is, there is no “middle-man” between he or she and what they’d like to do with their book.

Createspace provides the same service to those wanting to publish CDs and DVDs.

All of these information products can then be conveniently sold on the Amazon website to those searching for information on the relevant topic.

This course will discuss and demonstrate what it will take to get an information product ready for Createspace in book form, CD form and/or DVD form.

It will also discuss another service making publishing of information on Physical media easy, a website called Kunaki.

Kunaki helps entrepreneurs that want to sell their content with fewer restrictions than Createspace but also want to make it available in physical media form.

Discussion will begin with the various ways that a potential publisher can construct their media, then how they can record their media, how they can edit their media and finally how they can upload their media for sale.

The course will also walk through the various processes on screen so that authors can get started creating their content.

The Content Creation Process

Entrepreneurs often want to write books and create products because of what it could mean to their business. They can reach audiences outside of their typical customer as well as to show a more personal side of their business.

In other cases, they get to educate their customer and show them that they fully understand their problem and have the expertise to solve them. Books and digital products provide positioning with current and potential customers in ways that traditional contact methods (email, direct mail, advertising) don’t provide.

The main factor is that when the person purchases an information product they’re making an assumption, even if in a small way about the authority of the person doing the teaching, writing or training.

The problem is that unless content creation is the main thrust of their business, finding time to create training for others to experience can be difficult. They must serve their regular customers and attract new prospects, while at the same time create some kind of content to teach, train or entertain.

To do this, they must often find ways to leverage their existing time and activities in order to create the content that goes into a book and/or information product.

The digital content creation process makes this possible.

An entrepreneur can create three basic forms of content to either market or sell their brand and/or products.

How to Start Adding Muscle Mass in a Way That’s Fast and Sustainable

Loads of guys I know want to add muscle mass. And why not? When you’re a guy, having lots of muscle mass makes you feel imposing, intimidating and powerful. It changes the way that other guys look at you (which is to say, with a lot more respect) and it changes the way that women look at you as well.

Seeing as I’m in pretty strong shape myself, a lot of these guys will ask me for advice when it comes to bulking up. They want to know how they can add muscle mass without the risk of a disappointing failure and sometimes they’ll present me with their various training programs.

All too often, I find myself rolling my eyes.

Why?

Because the training programs and diet plans they present me with are almost always far too ambitious or just plain ineffective.

Take a recent example. One guy I know paid in excess of $300 for a ‘personalized’ online diet plan and what he showed me was utter garbage.

The diet plan took into account the macros he needed to eat, sure. The calories were based on a solid AMR calculation…

So far so good.

But the diet plan itself consisted of several incredibly difficult-to-follow meal plans that no-one normal would have the time, ability, or inclination to make and eat. As soon as you see a diet plan that includes some kind of fancy smoothie, you know you’re in trouble. The same goes for diets that involve elaborate methods for cooking and seasoning fish, with nice fruit chutneys on the side.

The guy who’d bought this plan is a pilot. That means that he is often staying overnight in different countries and being invited out for drinks with his pilot friends. That meant he would have to cook the meals in advance, freeze them and then bring them in Tupperware, hoping that they would only be defrosted by the time he was ready to eat them.

It also meant that on the few nights he got to share with his wife, they would be eating different things (she doesn’t want to bulk up, unsurprisingly).

And it meant that he wouldn’t be able to go out for a drink when offered.

The plan offered no alternatives and was completely inflexible.

And if it’s going to be any use, then he’s going to need to stick with it indefinitely. That’s right: he’s going to need to follow all that advice to the letter every single day, forever.

Well, good luck to him is all I can say!

And as you can imagine, the ‘exercise’ portion wasn’t much better. Which isn’t a huge surprise, seeing as the celebrity selling the plan is pretty stick thin!

So the idea of this report is to show you a different way. This guide will show you the basics of bulking but more importantly, it will show you how to create a program and a diet plan that you actually stick with. And along the way, we’ll point out all the usual stumbling blocks where people normally fail…

The Diet Component

When it comes to bulking up, eating the right diet is actually more important than exercising.

That’s because building muscle happens in two stages. First, you exercise and this causes you to break down muscle tissue and create ‘microtears’. This acts as stimulation to tell the body that it needs to repair that muscle and bring it back bigger. It’s a bit like you’ve marked the muscle for subsequent repair and growth.

The next stage is the rest stage. After your workout, you’ll then go and kick back on a sofa somewhere while eating lots – ideally maintaining a caloric surplus so your body knows it has
spare energy and eating lots of protein to provide the building blocks for muscle tissue. Then your body grows.

If you exercise hard but don’t get the rest, then you’ll keep breaking down the tissue but without the chance to build it back up. If you exercise hard and don’t eat enough, then your body will be in starvation mode and will believe it doesn’t have the necessary energy to spare in order to build muscle. Moreover, it won’t have the protein that it needs in order to actually create muscle.

Muscle is made from protein. Trying to make muscle without protein is like trying to make a Lego house without Lego.

What’s important to understand is that you’ll want to use PLR with an e-cover when possible. The reason for this is that it’s easy for your buyer to visualize the value they’re getting when there is a 3-D image. This means that if you don’t have one for the component or product, you’ll want to create one using Photoshop or some other sales graphics creation software.

Another important consideration is that you will want to make sure that your bonus is closely related to the product you’re promoting. There are some buyers who make the purchase solely on the basis of your bonus. As a result, you want to make sure that the buyer is interested in the general subject matter of the product. A relevant bonus helps you in both respects.

Since this is a bonus and not the actual product, it is ethical to have the buyer opt-in to get the content. This is especially helpful if the buyers aren’t coming from your email marketing list and from paid traffic or social media. This will help you to build your list as well as to make additional sales.

Use PLR to Create a Membership Site

One of the ways you can leverage PLR is by using it to create a stream of income that is recurring. This means that you’re creating what is typically called a “membership site.”

There are three uses for PLR in your membership. First, you want to make sure that when your customers “walk in the doors” of your membership that they see everything they need to succeed. On one hand, this will mean that you have the content that you promised in your sales letter. On the other hand, it means that you’ll have reference content and tools that will help them get the most of your content. You can purchase that reference content as PLR and have it in your membership.

The second use for PLR in your membership is to provide unannounced bonuses to your members. Unannounced bonuses allow you to reward your members and make it “painful” to cancel their subscription. Of course, the most important use of PLR is to provide membership content, or in other words, to do what you promised in your sales letter. If you are an expert in the topic area, but don’t have time to create the content, you’ll use your PLR for the membership.

If you are not an expert in the topic area, you’ll use PLR to help you with what would be hard for you to create. A membership’s content can be a regular video, e-mail and/or an e-book. You’ll want to use the graphics to add professionalism to the look of your membership area as well as what you give to the customer in your membership.

Bear in mind that the average membership site’s tenure is 3.5 months. That means that you should be providing some kind of extra bump on a regular basis. You can and should use PLR to “upgrade” your membership (this is different from the unannounced bonus).

Account Security Introduction

With all of this email activity and people using email, have you ever considered the security of your email account?

Imagine this:

You use your smart-phone to receive emails regularly. You are out to dinner and all of a sudden you receive a notification that there's been a suspicious log-in on your email account.

Your stomach is in knots by the time you finish reading the message. You gulp down your meal and rush to a computer. It's already too late. Your account has been jeopardized.

Now you have to spend hours (and days) trying to re-claim and secure your personal information like your bank and credit card accounts, PayPal or other payment processing accounts, social media accounts, business accounts (and messages) and so much more.

Most people think that it couldn't happen to them, but it's actually far more common than you would believe...

Think about everywhere that your email account may be used to sign up for accounts, or even plastered publicly due to poor privacy settings in various networks (not your fault though).

Consider what might happen if someone were to gain access to a pool of usernames and passwords that signed up for something like say, a forum. They might then run through the email accounts connected to the usernames, and try the specified password for each.
