- Aerobic Endurance- repetitive or rhythmic activities placed an increase oxygen demand on your body systems, lungs, and heart. Big muscle groups can be used in various activities including cycling, jogging or walking. The aim of this component is to train other muscles and heart to use oxygen efficiently, which permits exercise to continue for a long period of time.

- Muscular Strength- It is the capacity of the muscles of your body to produce a huge amount of force to utilize anaerobic energy. This energy produces a short term burst of energy and will not require oxygen. Anaerobic energy comes after the carbohydrates were burned, which is needed in replenishing the system.

- Muscular Endurance- It is the measure of how your muscles can repetitively generate force to maintain the activity. This is use of the raw strengths. When compared other components, this combines both anaerobic and aerobic energy.

- Flexibility- This is ability of a person to stretch. You can increase your flexibility through stretching elastic fibers beyond their limits and maintaining the stretched muscles for several moments. Your fibers will adjust to the new limits. With an improved flexibility, the risk of experiencing injury will decrease while you are exercising and increasing your performance. Yoga and swimming are some of the exercises that require greater flexibility.

- Body Composition- This will show you the percentage of bone, muscles, and fats in your body. These percentages will give you a view on your fitness and health in relation your body’s health, age, and weight. Fat and weight are used together most of the time, but the truth is, they’re not interchangeable. If you are overweight, it doesn’t imply obesity. In fact, there are lots of physically fit people who are overweight because of gaining muscles. But, if you are over fat, you pose health risks that may range to high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease.

Self-discipline is, without a doubt, one of the most important life skills everyone, and I mean everyone, should have. Now, achieving self-discipline is not easy. Don’t trust anyone who tells you that. To achieve self-discipline you need to have the ability to control your emotions, your body and your mind.

It’s the ability to rise beyond your weaknesses and be strong enough to resist temptations that may come your way (and you will have plenty of those, trust me). If you think doing that is easy, then you’re probably superhuman or maybe even a robot!

We may not share the same weaknesses but as humans, we all have weaknesses. It could be something material or immaterial, it could be tangible or non-tangible, it can even be a living thing like other human beings or animals. Every time you see these objects, these weaknesses, your resolve weakens and you lose your self-control. In some cases, maybe even your self-respect.

Overcoming your weaknesses is necessary for you to be successful at disciplining yourself. Why? You simply don’t have a choice. Temptations and obstacles will litter your path to success and it’s important you avoid these at all cost! If you fail, if you give in to your weaknesses, then you’re also going to fail big time on self-discipline.

If you’ve always wanted to achieve or excel at something, such as in sports, academics, arts, music, and more, you need to have the self-discipline to go after what you want, to chase after your dreams. You don’t just sit around and wait for something to happen. Because nothing will happen. You have to put in the work, most probably over a long period of time, so you can achieve whatever it is you’re aiming for.

By the time you finish reading the last chapter in this eBook, you’ll know everything there is to know about self-discipline and how you can use it to build your mental strength to resist temptation so you can finally reach your goals.

Chapter 1 – Identify Your ‘Why’?

It’s very easy to say you’re going to accomplish something, anything, in the next 12 months. You can say you’re going to be 20 pounds lighter or you’ll be living in Europe after a year or you can even say you’re going to find the love of your life soon and tie the knot in the next 12 months!

You can do a lot of things, be in a lot of places and meet loads of new people in under a year. You have an infinite number of possible goals you can choose to achieve.

Your chosen goal could be in response to a dare from your friends or maybe a personal challenge you want to take on. No matter the reason behind your sudden desire to succeed at something new, you need one very important skill to achieve that goal.

Can you guess what that skill is? It’s self-discipline, of course.

Committing to a long-term goal is the beginning of your self-discipline journey. Once you’ve done a mental handshake with yourself or signed on an imaginary dotted line confirming your commitment to a specific goal, then your self-discipline should kick into high gear.

You need to lock yourself in and buckle up so you don’t get left behind in the marathon to reach your goal. You need the stamina and the strength to surpass and overcome all obstacles in order to meet your goal.

Choose A Feasible Goal

Before you can begin, you need to know the answer to the question, “What is your why?”

What do you hope to achieve with your goal? What’s your end game?

If you don’t know the answer to this question, you need to seriously rethink your goal.

Is it even feasible? Is it something you can possibly hope to do within the timeframe you’ve specified? If you’ve assessed your goal properly and you’ve done the mental gymnastics to confirm it is indeed feasible for you, then congratulations. You’ve done a great job with the first step!

If you think you made a mistake setting the goal and you don’t think it’s feasible at all, you’re welcome to back out or cross it out of your list and replace it with a more realistic goal. There’s no need to push yourself into doing something that’s highly improbable or even impossible for you to achieve.

Some people may say nothing is impossible. But I beg to disagree. We are not created equal. We all know for a fact that some people have more financial resources than others. Some are just naturally athletic. Some will always be better looking than the people around them. Others still are just really blessed to not have to work hard for something that other people need to work their backsides off for! They are the lucky ones, the exceptions to the rule. They’ve been given a natural head start whether they like it or not (though I’m pretty sure they like it just fine!).

The first step in starting your new business is to choose a single focus. Solopreneurs usually start by catering to a niche market, where they can build an active and interested audience. You will want to have a steady customer base before you move on to anything else.

Having reliable customers is essential; they keep your business profitable and allow you to engage with them easily. Plus, a solid customer base keeps your business easy to manage. If you start to branch out too much, you might have trouble handling all of the tasks on your own.

With all this information we can quickly succumb to information overload and the fall to the adverse effects it has on our health and mental well-being.

Unfortunately, our minds aren’t designed to handle this much information, and can quickly become overwhelmed as it tries to process all the information we’re exposed to on a daily basis. Information overload can not only hamper our productivity, but it can leave us feeling stressed, depressed, and fatigued. Our conscious minds are designed to pay attention to no more than four things simultaneously, according to Daniel J. Levitin, author of The Organized Mind. If we go much more beyond this, we begin to exercise poorer judgment, lose our focus, and lose track of important things.

To reduce the effects of information overload on our mental well-being and health, we have to make a conscious effort to reduce the flood of information we consume and clear our minds of all the unnecessary information we accumulate on a daily basis. Here are five secrets to learning how to think straight again, overcome procrastination, and spend less time getting more done so we can move forward and better manage the information we’re exposed to in the future.

Secret #1 – Get Things Out of Your Head

The more information we try to cram into our minds, the less our brains are able to accurately process the information, ultimately leading to damaging our your short-term memories. This is because our minds were designed with a limited amount of space and ability to handle information. In fact, over the last ten years, we have created more information than in all of human history before that. The best way to deal with this issue is to completely clear your mind of all the clutter and noise by performing a brain dump.

Doing a brain dump means creating an extensive list of everything that you have floating around in your head, whether it's essential or not. Take the time to write down any thought that interrupts your workflow immediately. The simple process of writing these thoughts down helps to get them out of your head. Performing a brain dump allows you to quickly clear your mind of the irrelevant information that is interfering with your ability to focus on the task in front of you. Clearing your mind in this way also gives your brain permission to relax its neural circuits so that you can focus your attention on something else.

Once you’ve gotten your thoughts down on paper, you need to spend some time prioritizing each of the items into separate groups. You should have a category for things that you have to get done today, things that you can delegate, things that you can do this week, and things that you can drop. Productivity guru, David Allen calls these categories: do it, delegate it, defer it, and drop it.

If there is an item on your list that you simply can’t get crossed off, it may be because it’s ill-defined and not actionable. Take a closer look at these items and further break it down into subcategories and create actionable steps that you can take to complete each item.

Secret #2 – Stop Multitasking

For too long, people have considered multitasking as a great way to increase productivity. However, recent studies have shown the opposite effect happens when you multitask. Unfortunately, these studies have discovered that when you engage in multitasking, your productivity in fact decreases. Multitasking costs you by forcing you to decide between whether or not to answer a text, how you should respond, how you should file an email, whether you should stick with what you’re currently working on or move onto the interruption.

All of the little decision that you have to make when you multitask, use the finite amount of oxygenated glucose that your brain contains. The oxygenated glucose is the fuel that your mind needs to focus on a task.
