Let Your Customers Do Your Selling For You Giveaway Rights Ebook

You know about testimonials – those little blurbs from customers that tell prospects how great a product or service is.

But did you also know that over 70% of customers look at product reviews before buying? And 90% of participants in a Zendesk survey say they were influenced in their buying decisions by positive reviews.

According to research firm McKinsey, customers that come in through the advocacy of other customers actually stay longer and pay you more over time.

And it gets even better, because according to Influitive, customers who advocate for you will actually stay longer and pay you more.

Talk about a win-win-win, with YOU coming out as the biggest winner of all.

But getting testimonials can be a problem. Business people don’t want to ask for them or don’t know HOW to ask for them. And customers, while they might want to give them, don’t know how.

That’s why we’re going to show you exactly what to ask to get testimonials, how to use the testimonials to overcome the biggest objections of your prospects, and even how to get testimonials without asking.

First, let’s talk about the elephant in the room – that is, the problem with 90+% of testimonials out there right now…

“I don’t believe it!”

The problem – and it’s a big problem – with testimonials is they tend to be too sugary. Too positive. Too… unbelievable.

“Since I bought the ABC Super Scooper Money Making Machine, I’ve made so much money I dumped my wife of 22 years and I married 18 year old super model triplets. I now own 16 homes, 83 cars and my own personal rocket ship to Mars. Plus my skin rash cleared up real nice and I’m about to buy a big yacht and an island and become president of a South American country. Let me tell you, that was the best $19.95 I ever spent!”

Yup.

Uh-huh.

You believe that, don’t you?

Me neither.

Testimonials are a lot like resumes…

What happens when you hand your snazzy jazzy resume to a hiring manager? Sure, they read it. But do they BELIEVE it? Nope. If they did, they wouldn’t do all that digging into your past, your social media accounts, your previous employers, your college records and your references.

Why don’t they believe what they read in resumes?

Two reasons:

1. A lot of people ‘pad’ their resume, making themselves sound better than they are. And since they don’t know you, they just have to assume you’re padding until proven otherwise.

2. It’s all positive. Nearly nobody every puts anything negative on a resume. “That company canned me because I didn’t do a darn thing for 8 months but play video games on the computer and play with the company dog.”

And what does this teach us about why people don’t believe testimonials?

1. A lot of testimonials are fake, or at least people perceive them as being fake

2. The reason they think they’re fake is because they’re all positive – sometimes ridiculously positive - like the example at the beginning of this article.

With those two strikes going against you, how do you get real testimonials that people BELIEVE?

By getting believable testimonials.

Which brings us to the question:

What makes a testimonial believable?

If the testimonial starts out on a negative note, people’s defenses go down and they your credibility goes up. In fact, not only does a bit of negativity ring true and become believable, but there’s a second benefit as well:

Because the testimonial starts out negative, people are captivated into reading it from start to finish.

Let’s say a friend is recommending an auto mechanic to you. What might they say?

“You know that repair shop on 5th and Vine, the one in the tacky yellow building? Well I went in there the other day because something was wrong with my car.

The place came highly recommended, but I gotta tell you when I walked through the door, I wasn’t too sure. It didn’t look nearly as modern as the repair shop at the dealership. But they took great care of me and my car. They diagnosed the problem in minutes, told me exactly what was wrong and how long it would take to fix it.

It cost way less than I thought it would, and they had me back on the road in 40 minutes. I was so impressed. The last time I went to the dealership they tried to upsell me on a bunch of stuff and I know they overcharged for what I let them do. I’ll never go back to the dealership again.

That repair shop might look a little funky, but the mechanics are top notch, fast and friendly, and they don’t try to rip you off.”

Notice how different this testimonial is from most of the testimonials you see online. This one starts out negative, talking about “the tacky yellow building,” and “it didn’t look nearly as modern as the repair shop at the dealership.”

And near the close it gets negative again, saying “That repair shop might look a little funky.”

But there is no doubt the author of the testimonial is thrilled with the service he received and the price he paid.

THIS is a testimonial people will believe.

In fact, if you have several of these kinds of testimonials, half your job of selling will be done for you.

That’s because your customers will be overcoming prospect’s objections for you, in a way you alone could never do.

Chapter 1: Introduction: What is it Like to be a Top Blogger?

No matter what you end up doing, working online is a fantastic opportunity and a great way to enjoy more freedom and potentially higher earnings.

If you work online, that means you can work from anywhere in the world, that you can set your own pace to work at and that you can choose your own salary.

But while working online is always great, there are a lot of different forms that this can take and not all of them are made equal.

In other words, some online businesses are more profitable and more enjoyable than others and if you’re working to provide a service such as web design, copywriting or coding, then essentially you won’t be doing anything all that different from working for an employer.

Clients mean deadlines and they’re essentially very similar to bosses!

And then there are those hustles that you can get into online. Things like selling eBooks or working as an affiliate to promote someone else’s ebook. These are passive income business models that will earn you cash while you sleep or while you travel the world.

They’re low input and high yield – in many ways they represent the very best of both worlds and they’re an ideal choice for those looking to earn money quickly.

But let’s face it, these business models don’t have all that much ambition attached. Selling an ebook is not exactly changing the world, especially if it’s not even an ebook that you made yourself! What’s more, is that selling ebooks aren’t going to get you all that rich.

There’s definitely a cut off point at which these ‘get rich quick’ schemes stop being profitable. There’s a ceiling that limits how much you can earn and it’s also not particularly exciting or rewarding.

To be honest, a lot of people who make money online using these sorts of methods aren’t all that likely to actually believe in the products they sell. Essentially this feels like scamming people in order to make money, which isn’t a great feeling.

This is why I firmly believe that becoming a top blogger is THE best way to earn a lot of money online. In this post, I’ll be looking at what that entails and how you can get there. But first, let’s take a look at why blogging is the perfect way to make money online.

The Reality of Blogging

Firstly, being a top blogger means generating a passive income. You’ll have a website that will earn money for you but you won’t need to put in a lot of daily work in order for that to happen. This isn’t like writing or web design where you are getting paid for the time you put in.

Here, you have done your work up front and thus you can kick back and relax while the money comes in from adverts, digital product sales and sponsors.

That’s not to say that there’s no ongoing work mind you; you will still need to write the occasional blog post and do some promotion – it’s just that it is up to you how and when you do this.

And the best part is that this is a highly rewarding way to work and make money online. You’ll find that you don’t dread doing it because you’ll be writing about a topic that you really enjoy and you’ll be doing things that you’re really proud of.

Imagine if your day’s work involved stopping off at a coffee shop somewhere, getting yourself a nice hot drink and then leaning back into your chair while you type up an article on a subject you find fascinating.
Then there’s the fans and the adulation. Being a top blogger is effectively like being a celebrity: people will read what you write and they’ll leave comments and respond.

It’s an amazing feeling when you write a post that you’re really proud of and that you poured your heart into and then you get emails from people who read it and found it fascinating.

It’s an even better feeling when you stumble onto a forum where people are discussing your ideas or recommending your posts!

You’ll be an authority in the niche you love and you’ll get to spend all your time reading and writing about it!

And the potential earnings for a top blogger are huge. Really the only limit is your ambition.

Take a look at someone like Pat Flynn, Tim Ferriss or Mario Popova and you’ll see that you can become really very wealthy from a big blog by selling products, by working with sponsors or even just from Google AdSense.

What’s more, is that a blog can serve as a platform to something else. This can be a tool that you use to become a published author, to get your own TV show or to launch another business. That might sound unbelievable but I’m absolutely serious!

Just take a look at someone like Aaron Marino (Alpha M) who started out with a style blog and now runs his own line of men’s grooming products!

I can also attest to this myself. I have a (fairly) big blog and thanks to that, I got contacted by a large YouTube channel and asked to make videos with them.

I now get sent expensive electronic gadgets to review and get to keep them, while the videos I make for them get hundreds of thousands of views in the first day!

I even got a book contract and am currently on my way to becoming a published author.

Being a big blogger is an entirely different thing from other forms of making money online. It’s a chance to get rich yes but also to get famous for doing something you love, to make a big difference in a given community or niche and generally to do something that actually matters.

If you like the sounds of that and you think the blogging lifestyle is for you then keep reading. This book is going to show you how to make it happen and we’re going to go to some completely different places than most other books on this subject…

Introduction to Facebook Marketing

As of January 2017, the social media and World Wide Web giant Facebook claimed 1.79 billion active users. Notice the descriptive adjective "active" was used there. This means these are Facebook accounts which show regular and continual activity. Only roughly 47% of the global population of 7.3 billion people use the Internet or 3.4 billion people. In other words, more than half of everyone on the Internet, 52.65% to be exact, is regularly active on Facebook. Estimates show that Facebook users spend between 40 and 50 minutes of each day on FB.

Translation: Your prospects and potential customers are on Facebook, and they spend a lot of time there.

You may have the greatest product ever conceived and created in your field. It solves every possible problem your ideal prospect has not been able to solve in the past, requires a smaller investment than lesser capable products, and is simple to use. None of that matters. If you have the world's greatest, "catch a fish with every cast" fishing rod and reel, it is going to be a failure if you don't know where the fish are. You are wasting your money if you don't market where your audience is, and as the above statistics show, your potential customers are waiting for you on Facebook.

"Only 6.7% of companies on FB actually advertise there."

May 2017 Amy Porterfield - Facebook Expert, Blogger, Podcaster

That stat should get you excited! Just by advertising on FB, you jump ahead of most or all of your competitors. This is huge. Since you can spend as little as $5 a day advertising, this means even the smallest of budgets can reach their audience on FB. Also, Facebook has multiple advertising methods you can advantage of.

You can also simply open a personal account and begin posting content, which doesn't cost a thing. There are paid advertisement methods as well, and they all have their own positives and negatives. Business pages are good for driving engagement, and so are Facebook groups. In this introductory guide to Facebook marketing, all of those aspects of broadcasting your business on the world's largest social media site are covered.

You will also discover why it is crucial you use video on Facebook. You will learn why it is important to become very good at targeting your advertisements to the right audience, the specific avatar that is looking for the products and solutions you offer. When you are finished reading this FB marketing guide, you will be better prepared than most or all of your competition to harness the traffic on the world's busiest website, to help grow your business and improve your sales and profits.

Creating a Facebook Business Page

The first step to promoting your business online is to set up your Facebook business page. The following 12 steps walk you through the process of quickly creating a Facebook presence that announces your business to the 1.79 billion active FB users that could potentially become your customers.

1 - Open a Personal Facebook Account

You need to have a personal Facebook account before you can create a business page. Keeping the two separate is easy if you don't want people on your business page to see your personal Facebook activity, and vice versa. Head over to Facebook and provide the following information to create a personal account.

• First name
• Last name
• Mobile number or email
• Password
• Birthday
• Gender

If you already have an account, simply log in.

2 – Create a Business Facebook Page

Once you log into your personal page, look at the upper right-hand section of your screen. You will see an arrow pointing down, and when you click on this, a drop-down menu opens up. Select "Create Page," then choose from the following options the one that best applies to your business.

• Local Business or Place
• Company, Organization, or Institution
• Brand or Product
• Artist, Band or Public Figure
• Entertainment
• Cause or Community

3 – Enter Business Information

This includes a section where you choose three categories that relate to your business. You have just 155 characters to describe your business here, so be short and to the point, including any relevant keywords and phrases. Don't forget to add a link to your website or blog. You will also be asked to verify you are authorized to represent your business.

4 – Upload a Profile Picture

Make sure this picture is visually appealing, represents your business, products or services, and is at least 180 x 180 pixels. Don't be skimpy here, and use any old picture you have lying around. You want a high-quality picture, so you might think about hiring a professional photographer.

If you own a restaurant, provide a picture of your menu. If you represent a dentist, add a picture of someone with a great smile. You can alternatively use your business logo. Just make sure whatever picture you use, it represents your business perfectly. This is the picture that will show up in news feeds, the one that people will relate to you and your business.

5 – Add Your Page to Your Favorites

At some point during the process, you will be asked to make your business page one of your personal page favorites. This gives you quick access to your business page from your personal account, and shortly after doing this, you'll start to see your personal followers become fans of your business page.

6 – Eliminate Any Duplicate Pages

At this point, FB will ask you to claim any other business pages you have created. You may have developed a page in the past and forgotten about it. If an old business page has Likes, use it instead of creating this new page. Having multiple pages confuses your followers, and can do more harm to your business than good.
