The ChildrenS Book Of Christmas Stories PLR Ebook

Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, on the night before Christmas, a little child was wandering all alone through the streets of a great city. There were many people on the street, fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers, uncles and aunts, and even gray-haired grandfathers and grandmothers, all of whom were hurrying home with bundles of presents for each other and for their little ones. Fine carriages rolled by, express wagons rattled past, even old carts were pressed into service, and all things seemed in a hurry and glad with expectation of the coming Christmas morning.

From some of the windows bright lights were already beginning to stream until it was almost as bright as day. But the little child seemed to have no home, and wandered about listlessly from street to street. No one took any notice of him except perhaps Jack Frost, who bit his bare toes and made the ends of his fingers tingle. The north wind, too, seemed to notice the child, for it blew against him and pierced his ragged garments through and through, causing him to shiver with cold. Home after home he passed, looking with longing eyes through the windows, in upon the glad, happy children, most of whom were helping to trim the Christmas trees for the coming morrow.

of it may be for me.” So with timid steps he approached a large and handsome house. Through the windows, he could see a tall and stately Christmas tree already lighted. Many presents hung upon it. Its green boughs were trimmed with gold and silver ornaments. Slowly he climbed up the broad steps and gently rapped at the door. It was opened by a large man-servant. He had a kindly face, although his voice was deep and gruff. He looked at the little child for a moment, then sadly shook his head and said, “Go down off the steps. There is no room here for such as you.” He looked sorry as he spoke; possibly he remembered his own little ones at home, and was glad that they were not out in this cold and bitter night. Through the open door a bright light shone, and the warm air, filled with fragrance of the Christmas pine, rushed out from the inner room and greeted the little wanderer with a kiss. As the child turned back into the cold and darkness, he wondered why the footman had spoken thus, for surely, thought he, those little children would love to have another companion join them in their joyous Christmas festival. But the little children inside did not even know that he had knocked at the door.

The street grew colder and darker as the child passed on. He went sadly forward, saying to himself, “Is there no one in all this great city who will share the Christmas with me?” Farther and farther down the street he wandered, to where the homes were not so large and beautiful. There seemed to be little children inside of nearly all the houses. They were dancing and frolicking about. Christmas trees could be seen in nearly every window, with beautiful dolls and trumpets and picture-books and balls and tops and other dainty toys hung upon them. In one window the child noticed a little lamb made of soft white wool. Around its neck was tied a red ribbon. It had evidently been hung on the tree for one of the children. The little stranger stopped before this window and looked long and earnestly at the beautiful things inside, but most of all was he drawn toward the white lamb. At last creeping up to the window-pane, he gently tapped upon it. A little girl came to the window and looked out into the dark street where the snow had now begun to fall. She saw the child, but she only frowned and shook her head and said, “Go away and come some other time. We are too busy to take care of you now.” Back into the dark, cold streets he turned again. The wind was whirling past him and seemed to say, “Hurry on, hurry on, we have no time to stop. ‘Tis Christmas Eve and everybody is in a hurry to-night.”

Again and again the little child rapped softly at door or window-pane. At each place he was refused admission. One mother feared he might have some ugly disease which her darlings would catch; another father said he had only enough for his own children and none to spare for beggars. Still another told him to go home where he belonged, and not to trouble other folks.

The hours passed; later grew the night, and colder grew the wind, and darker seemed the street. Farther and farther the little one wandered. There was scarcely any one left upon the street by this time, and the few who remained did not seem to see the child, when suddenly ahead of him there appeared a bright, single ray of light. It shone through the darkness into the child’s eyes. He looked up smilingly and said, “I will go where the small light beckons, perhaps they will share their Christmas with me.”

Everyone has heard the saying, so there is little disagreement that we live in the information age. It's also a well-known fact people look for information online more than ever before. In fact, searching for information on the internet has become so common that the name "Google" has become a verb; when you want to learn about a topic you simply "google" it. Also, people have a fairly open mind about where their information comes from; they're going to be interested in reading articles, blog entries and reports from just about any source, and you can be the source they look to.

"But wait," you say. "I'm not trying to be an encyclopedia. I just want to sell my product."

The truth is if someone wants to buy a product, they're not likely to go surfing the web. They're going to visit Amazon, eBay or one of the other well established online retailers. Unless you have the advertising budget of a small nation, you’re not likely to pull too much business from those firmly established sites. So how do you get people to buy from you? Should you throw in the towel and surrender to the big online retailers? Of course not, and this chapter will show you one way to overcome competition from the big boys of the net.

So if people want information, and they’re willing to get it from sites just like yours, then by all means give it to them. Give the people articles, give them blog entries and give them news. Tell them everything you know and then look up something more to tell them. Remember what was said, this is the “information age” and not the “product age”. Give the people all that information, and while you at it give them information about how much they need your product. Tell them about designer jeans and let them know you sell designer jeans at rock bottom prices. Tell them about planning a garden and let them know you sell an info product about planting bulbs.

Don’t try to “sell” anything, but just let people know you have something to meet their needs. If they don’t yet realize they have that particular need, then give them all the information to let them understand their need. If someone wanted to buy, they’d go to one of the major online retailers and look for it. But if someone wants information, they will search the web and if they happen to find you, give the customer what they want.

Search engines love content, and so do your visitors! Fresh content will keep your visitors coming back to your website at their own will and you’ll naturally get higher results at search engines. As the saying goes, “Content is king” and it will your best friend when it comes to traffic generation.

Our breakfast consisted of what the Squire denominated true old English fare. He indulged in some bitter lamentations over modern breakfasts of tea-and-toast, which he censured as among the causes of modern effeminacy and weak nerves, and the decline of old English heartiness; and though he admitted them to his table to suit the palates of his guests, yet there was a brave display of cold meats, wine, and ale, on the sideboard.

After breakfast I walked about the grounds with Frank Bracebridge and Master Simon, or Mr. Simon as he was called by everybody but the Squire. We were escorted by a number of gentleman-like dogs, that seemed loungers about the establishment; from the frisking spaniel to the steady old staghound; the last of which was of a race that had been in the family time out of mind: they were all obedient to a dog-whistle which hung to Master Simon’s buttonhole, and in the midst of their gambols would glance an eye occasionally upon a small switch he carried in his hand.

The old mansion had a still more venerable look in the yellow sunshine than by pale moonlight; and I could not but feel the force of the Squire’s idea, that the formal terraces, heavily moulded balustrades, and clipped yew-trees, carried with them an air of proud aristocracy. There appeared to be an unusual number of peacocks about the place, and I was making some remarks upon what I termed a flock of them, that were basking under a sunny wall, when I was gently corrected in my phraseology by Master Simon, who told me that, according to the most ancient and approved treatise on hunting, I must say a MUSTER of peacocks. “In the same way,” added he, with a slight air of pedantry, “we say a flight of doves or swallows, a bevy of quails, a herd of deer, of wrens, or cranes, a skulk of foxes, or a building of rooks.” He went on to inform me, that, according to Sir Anthony Fitzherbert, we ought to ascribe, to this bird “both understanding and glory; for, being praised, he will presently set up his tail chiefly against the sun, to the intent you may the better behold the beauty thereof. But at the fall of the leaf, when his tail falleth, he will mourn and hide himself in corners, till his tail come again as it was.”

I could not help smiling at this display of small erudition on so whimsical a subject; but I found that the peacocks were birds of some consequence at the Hall, for Frank Bracebridge informed me that they were great favourites with his father, who was extremely careful to keep up the breed; partly because they belonged to chivalry, and were in great request at the stately banquets of the olden time; and partly because they had a pomp and magnificence about them, highly becoming an old family mansion. Nothing, he was accustomed to say, had an air of greater state and dignity than a peacock perched upon an antique stone balustrade.

Master Simon had now to hurry off, having an appointment at the parish church with the village choristers, who were to perform some music of his selection. There was something extremely agreeable in the cheerful flow of animal spirits of the little man; and I confess I had been somewhat surprised at his apt quotations from authors who certainly were not in the range of every-day reading. I mentioned this last circumstance to Frank Bracebridge, who told me with a smile that Master Simon’s whole stock of erudition was confined to some half-a-dozen old authors, which the Squire had put into his hands, and which he read over and over, whenever he had a studious fit; as he sometimes had on a rainy day, or a long winter evening. Sir Anthony Fitzherbert’s “Book of Husbandry;” Markham’s “Country Contentments;” the “Tretyse of Hunting,” by Sir Thomas Cockayne, Knight; Izaak Walton’s “Angler,” and two or three more such ancient worthies of the pen, were his standard authorities; and, like all men who know but a few books, he looked up to them with a kind of idolatry, and quoted them on all occasions. As to his songs, they were chiefly picked out of old books in the Squire’s library, and adapted to tunes that were popular among the choice spirits of the last century. His practical application of scraps of literature, however, had caused him to be looked upon as a prodigy of book-knowledge by all the grooms, huntsmen, and small sportsmen of the neighbourhood.

Finding Your Confidence Mrr Ebook

A short time ago it was heard that a revered and highly intellectual person working in a reputed organization had been summoned to address a speech to young management trainees. The gentleman prepared very well and had written a laudable and motivating speech. He was to give a lecture on ‘Public speaking skills’. This was not the first time that he was called upon to give speech. The D-day arrived and he seemed to be in very high spirits.

The moment he was introduced to the students, he got up and was about to give his speech when things started becoming hazy in front of his eyes. All of a sudden he was utterly blank and couldn’t reminisce anything he had prepared. After faltering for a few minutes, he walked away feeling utterly embarrassed and shell-shocked by the turn of events.

Now, what happened here could be passed on as a common episode. But if you think intensely you will realize that the person was suffering from lack of confidence that has never happened to him on previous occasions. He had done his homework well, yet there can be times when people go berserk just seeing a huge crowd and tend to forget things or become totally nervous. This can happen to any professional speaker and not just amateur ones.

If such a situation arises it’s better not to panic. Be calm and think about the reasons. Try attempting to speak again after a few minutes. Start the conversation on a lighter note maybe by cracking a joke or talking about an anecdote from your childhood. Then you may find it comfortable to address the crowd.

The main thing that can crush your confidence is low self-esteem. Think high about yourself. Be optimistic in life about everything. You may find a drastic change in your attitude also. Cultivate the habit of speaking a lot with people around you. Don’t have a reserved attitude. Above all don’t have secret fears or nagging doubts about your personality.

Try and be among the circle of people who think highly about you. If you are caught in the midst of people who leave no stone unturned to criticize or blame you then you will be paralyzed by lack of confidence. Also remember not to be over confident about things. Make sure that you have an effective balance between the both.

Confidence can drastically crush down if you have an egocentric attitude. You should accept your imperfections and work on them rather than thinking very highly about you. Also try not to have any feelings of resentment or guilt about yourself as this can deter your confidence level from growing. If you have this inward feeling of achieving perfection at any cost, it can lead to problems in your level of self-assurance. There is no need for you to be perfect in everything.

If you have an ‘I can’t do this’ attitude, then make an effort to change this. Confidence can be crushed if you aren’t able to believe on all the things you can do. Also if you are constantly comparing yourself with other people, it can impede your level of confidence. It’s always easy to have self-assurance, but extremely intricate to regain lost confidence.

Every so often people speculate on what precisely is the secret behind a healthy relationship? Normally healthy relations are pleasant and the best part is that they make you feel good about yourself. You can have a good relationship with anybody in your life. It can be your friends, teachers, boss, spouse, or even dating partners. With the advent of globalization, people have started believing the conception of dating.

To begin with, dating can be described as a social activity that mainly involves two people with the primary aim of understanding each other’s suitability if they intend to get into an intimate relationship or get married. Here are some more great tips for a healthy dating relationship.

To begin with, never assume things. Just the fact that someone is ready to date doesn’t mean that he/she is a no good character. You must remove this notion from your mind. This can be an effective start to your healthy dating relationship. If you are dating and over a period of time you feel that you have been attracted to the wrong person then try not to blame it on any external reasons. Instead, try and work out the existing problem and find its cause. Also make an effort and analyze yourself when you are in a dating relationship. You need to be very clear about your opinion of the person you are dating. What it means is you ought to be sure of what you want from this relationship, whether it is strictly to just date or go further and tie the knot.

Your personal life is best preserved when you don’t try and share it with many people. Set aside the details of your private life from your close friends, and if needed, even from your family. This can really make you have a healthy dating relationship.

For the moment do not think too far into the future and what it holds for you. When you initially start dating it does not mean that commitment and the future is what you think of. That ought to be left for when you get to know each other better. Thinking a lot about future can impede your dating relationship. See that your relationship has a blend of both, love and truth. This is what will make relationship grow.

Aim not to divulge a lot of facts about your childhood to your dating partner. If your life has been traumatic then try not to narrate those stories to your partner in the initial stages of your dating. Sometimes such a kind of revelation can lead to a negative impression and your partner may feel like dumping you on your first date. Hence, it is essential that you maintain your demeanor and don't disclose too much.

Also you and your partner should try and talk about many issues like detachment, capriciousness, managing responsibilities, and diligence, et al. These are important, as it will enable you and your partner to understand about each of your qualities and what exactly you both expect in a relationship.
