ORM and Social Media
Social media and online reputation management are two different aspects of digital marketing that go incredibly well together and that should often be used synergistically.
Online reputation management is the process of managing your reputation by replacing negative reviews with positive ones, by creating an 'association' between your business and others that people consider industry leaders and by building positive buzz and excitement for your products and services.
Social media marketing meanwhile is the process of marketing your business through social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and Pinterest. This way you can take more control of the way your audience see you by creating a direct relationship. Here we will look at how social media marketing can be used specifically for ORM.
Sharing the Good News
If you have a million good reviews and one bad one, there is nothing to say that that one bad one won't be what everyone sees at the top of Google. If you have a social media account though, then you can make sure to actively share and promote your success stories. This might mean writing about positive case studies with your customers or it might just mean liking and sharing positive reviews and comments.
Responding
Using tools that look for mentions, it's relatively easy on Facebook and Twitter to look out for people mentioning your company name. This way you can respond back in order to help build a relationship with them and to show that you're listening, you care and you're receptive.
