Ebook Sample Content Preview:
In order for this method to really work, you cannot start with an empty website. You will need some baseline content to start with so that as you start contacting local companies for interviews, they can have a look at your site and see that you are the real deal and this is a serious opportunity for them. There are 2 simple ways to get some initial content on your site.
If you already have some local business contacts, ask them to be your inaugural guests interviewees.
If you don’t have a contact list yet, create 5 or 10 blog posts that feature local companies, local charities or even some local events.
If you are going to go with option 1, make sure you follow the recommended steps for interview best practices detailed later in this report.
If you are going with option 2, you very likely have potential content in your head based on your experience from living in your particular city or town. Just start thinking about all of the different businesses you have used in the past few months. This can be anything like local restaurants, movie theaters, chiropractors, coffee shops, auto mechanics, clothing stores, book stores, local sporting or business events, a community fundraiser, etc... Any instance where you were involved with local companies is an opportunity for you to write a review of that company and post it to your new site.
Think of 5-10 different experiences you have had where you can write a positive review. While we all know that controversy sells, the goal of this blog is to generate warm leads and the only way people will want to get involved with what you are doing is if they see an opportunity to have a positive experience with you.
The key element to focus on in this step is speed of implementation. Do not over think any of these steps or become overly concerned about your writing style etc... Just do your best to provide an honest review and get your 5-10 blog posts published live on your site ASAP. This should take you no longer than 1 day but you could do it in a lot less time than that as well!
(You could also outsource this step but that will come down to your preferences and budget.)
Now that you have a professional website, a professional domain name, a nice looking logo and 5-10 pieces of content that showcase local businesses, it is time to start REAL prospecting.
