1. AC Adaptors

These are something that a lot of people really overlook. Have you ever been at a thrift store and seen a big box full of random AC adaptors? Did you also know that you were potentially looking at a big pile of cash?

Since these don’t normally have barcodes, you’ll have to type them manually into your scanning app. Look for the brand and the model number, and enter those into whatever scanning app you happen to be using. I would steer clear of “generic” non-brand name adaptors for the most part. Camera battery chargers are especially valuable.

2. Business phones

These are one of my personal favorites. I find these at yard sales and thrift stores all of the time. What you are looking for is a phone similar to the one below: it has to have a line of button which are used for different contacts. Ensure you look up the brand and model number to see if it’s a good buy. AT&T is one of the more popular/easy to find brands.

3. Microphones (yes, even old ones)

I know the microphone pictured below looks fairly worthless, but would you believe it’s worth over $40 at the time of this writing (2015)? Even if it’s not boxed, it’s still worth money. Logitech is a great brand, though some lesser known brands can also bring in a good amount of profit. Try to test these out to ensure they work before you sell them. And again, look up the brand and model number in your scanning app to ensure it meets your profit margins.

4. Branded invitation cards and party supplies

I see these poor thing neglected in some corner of the thrift store all of the time. Look for ones with themed characters (Disney, Marvel, etc.) and with a Hallmark logo. You can usually buy these for $0.99 each and sell them for $10 or more. You’ll only be able to get that price if they’re discontinued: that’s why thrift stores are a great place to look.
