Okay, so we're going to focus our energy on getting paid by other people to send visitors to their sites and buy their products. You can get paid for this in a couple of different ways. One is Pay Per Click, the other is Pay Per Action.
Google Adwords (adwords.google.com) is by far the most popular Pay Per Click (or PPC) network out there, but it can take a TON of clicks to add up to any substantial revenue it's promoters. We're not saying that you should ignore it, but let's look at the other alternative for the moment.
What we're going to talk about here is one type of 'Pay Per Action' revenue. Which is, more specifically, when a merchant pays you every time a certain action occurs.
This action could be as simple as having a prospect fill in their zip code, it could be a long form of information, or it could be when a SALE is made. The merchant pays you to refer paying clients to them and you make money when they do. Of course this is also known by a more common term: Affiliate Marketing. This is the type of Pay Per Action we're going to focus on in 4MM.
Now, I know that a vast majority of readers probably know a good bit about how Affiliate Marketing works. But, bear with us (or skip ahead) as I give a little more detail for those who might just be starting out.
